Finally got around to voiding my warranty cause I don't care because I wasn't going to pay to ship this keyboard back to get another one. The soldering was shoddy as you can see in the circled picture. The LED on my left arrow key was bridged so I desoldered some of the bridged solder and my led works again. Something as easy as quality control would've caught this easily as the left arrow keys LED doesn't work at all. I thought I had broken it or something but it just turned out to be crappy quality control.
IMO, the MX Clears still feel heavy to me though people love and swear by them. I refused to use my less than stellar board until I fixed the dead LED. IMO, typing on MX Browns still feel way better than typing on MX Clears. These MX Clears feel like MX Blacks but with a larger tactile bump than MX Browns.
I was in on an earlier round of this drop, and I have to say this is now my favorite keyboard ever. I ordered an Ergodox (still waiting), and got this to tide me over, and wow, I like it so much, I may sell my Ergodox, or at least hand it down to my daughter, when it finally arrives. Aside from the wonderful Cherry Clears, my favorite feature is the DIP-switch controlled hardware remapping. It lets me plug the keyboard into a dumb terminal, and still get Dvorak mapping. Odd use case, but I run into it a lot with my retrocomputing experiments.
My shipment got stuck in NJ. International. Is anyone else having this as well? The status hasn't updated for 10 days now. I did contact Massdrop support but have yet to receive an answer.
