So I've thought about picking up a Luzon for a while and when I saw it here I said 'why not'. And when I was checking out I saw something about a larger version for a little more money. Thinking that it was maybe an inch bigger, I selected it and bought it. When this thing arrived it and I pulled it out of the box I just started laughing. There just kept being more knife to remove from the box, it was like something out of a movie. As you can see, the 'large' version of the Luzon should probably be named something more like 'nuclear sized'. It's ginormous.

For further reference, here it is closed, with a SRM Land 913 and a Ganzo FH51 for general size comparison.

Like, seriously, next time I'll pay a little more attention to the dimensions. But what the hell, this thing's awesome. I think the handle is thermoplastic which is increasingly common. Inexpensive but the truth is, it's fine unless you're in the habit of leaving your knives in an oven. Light, too -- this thing's not as heavy as it looks, because thermoplastic is light and the liner is skeletonized. Seems to be put together well for an inexpensive knife. The clip's made of the same thermoplastic so it's pretty easy to work with, and there's a slide lockbar on the side to keep the frame lock from disengaging. Does it flip? Hell, yes. It flips beautifully with either the flipper tab or the thumb stud. Locks right up. Deep click that resonates a bit in the thermoplastic. It's kind of like the swingarm gate on a railroad crossing going up and I absolutely guarantee the first time you flip it open it'll make you laugh out of sheer ridiculousness because - I mean, look at it. It's a pocket knife and it's well over a foot long. The edge is just ok. Good enough to shave from the edge of a piece of paper but not incredibly cleanly. I think it's probably safe to say that this will not become one of the knives I tend to carry around with me. But it's so goddamned ridiculous that I love it anyway. Like, I have had barbecue knives with a smaller footprint than this thing. The handle's so big I can fit both my hands on it and flipping it open is like unlimbering a Scottish claymore.

reswrightPurchased elsewhere. For the price, no one should expect premium steel or high quality parts, but like many Cold Steel knives, they make quality stuff out of budget materials, at fair budget prices. As all have mentioned, this thing is comically huge. But damn it's fun, impressive, and even intimidating. And, when I had to go visit a property of mine, in a high-crime area, I carried two things- my pistol in a leg holster and my giant Luzon in my hand. It may be "too" big but I felt perfectly safe walking into a sketchy building with this in my hand. It is a defensive blade that will get the job done, especially if the job is to scare the holy crap out of a criminal. It actually feels great, flips great, and looks great. At first, it seemed like a kitschy piece for my collection, but I really love it. It's just super bad-ass. For less than 40 bucks, it's a no-brainer.

I was hesitant to buy a "cheap" Cold Steel but the ones I received were smooth and solid with centered blades. My only issue is that the slide lock on the smaller one doesn't do anything, I can still just barely unlock the knife when it's engaged. I never use secondary locks so it's not a big deal. I love big knives and I have several of the comically huge Cold Steels. They're great for DIY projects, backyard cleanup, kitchen work, etc. And if you hold one up to your nose, close your eyes, and inhale deeply, you just might catch a whiff of Lynn Thompson's manly essence.

Holy Cow it’s Massive!
Not sure what I was thinking when I ordered the 6” version lol it is HUGE definitely not a knife you would pull out in public to open a box. But that said it is cool and fun addition to my collection. Build quality pretty good for the price. And came super sharp out of the box.

Lots of fun for the price
Came super sharp out of the box. Made even sharper on my sharpmarker. Gave it to my girlfriend who now uses it as a purse sword.

Cool big ass knife but poorly finished
It is huge (that’s what she said). But it is poorly finished. The spring assist is super slow and doesn’t engage the knife lock. So I end up flicking the knife open to engage the lock

I bought the larger size and it's the most ridiculous knife I own. About the size of my keyboard.

Ludicrous. Buy one.
This thing is stupid, unnecessary, gratuitous, excessive, and utterly brilliant. Built like a tank, sharp as a razor, comfy in hand and guaranteed to wake up the inner 15 year old you and make his peepee all ticklish. I mean come on aside from all that it's a 6 inch folder for sub $50. I dunno why you wouldn't unless you're too "grown up" for this type of lark in which case good luck to you, enjoy your next purchase of a watch to go with that spiffy new set of cufflinks that Jonty bought you to wear at the rugby club dinner. I'll be out back Emerson waving my monstrous new cold steel with a massive grin on my face and warm glow in my chest 👍😁

This thing is huge. Seriously.
Not really a pocket knife. But it’s perfect for my camping cutlery kit. Its being foldable protects the blade as things get carted around, and the size makes it great for food prep.

bam1021That's what I thought about it, I keep a Broken Skull in a little kit I made for a Kizer pouch for about the same reason. It's not long enough to carve up a ham, unlike the Luzon, but it's long and light and better in a kit than in the pocket

Liked the blade shape, almost a miniature bowie.
The grip fit my hand well but liner lock could have been polished better. Rough finish makes it harder to release with your thumb without breaking your grip.
