Really? It doesn’t support an inline mic? So disappointed.

Was disappointed with this. When you first get it, the fact that its a solid metal unit gives the impression of good build quality, but the ting fell apart the second or third time the headphones were pulled out of it. This lasted a shorter amount of time than the super flimsy feeling official Apple adapter.

So, I'm a bit confused: does this come with a DAC in it, and if so, how much of an audible difference will you hear using this vs using the standard Apple dongle? Granted this does look a lot nicer, not sure if it's really worth the extra $. Can someone convince me otherwise? EDIT: So I actually ended up buying this little guy (TC25I) from Amazon since I missed the drop deadline. I have to say, that it's just OK. Does it sound better than the Apple dongle? Yes, a tiny bit - there's a bit more clarity and definition to the details, but nothing that makes me think, "Wow, this is a noticeable improvement over the apple dongle!" I remember someone on a FB HP group saying there was a HUGE difference in sound quality. However, I didn’t find that to be is the case at all ... Is it a noticeable difference? Just a tad. Is it worth $40? Let's see how the build quality is in the long run. It looks nice, and at the drop price of around $33, I suppose it's not a bad deal. I doubt I'll buy one for my iPad though, or a replacement if the one I bought breaks for whatever reason. I've decided to leave it in a "permanent" adapter on setup in my studio room so that I don't need to worry about losing it - it's definitely a worry given the size of it. It'll do the job where it is. Definitely don't expect much out of it, and you won't be disappointed.

It's still working quite well actually! I have it in a setup that I don't use daily (more like every other week), but it's held up fine and with zero issues so far. Can't say as much for some other cheaper third-party adapters I have though.

HawaiiRAh, so you have gotten issues using 3rd party adapters on your Apple decive(s)? Strange that one 3rd party adapter works but most others don't. Must've outsmarted the system ;)

Just a heads up. The Linsoul DD HiFi TC25i L to 2.5mm Cable adapter currently sells for $49.99 on Amazon right now with Free shipping that will get it to you by Dec 10. The Linsoul DD HiFi TC35i 3.5mm Plug Adapter is selling for $39.99 with free shipping on Amazon but there are only 2 left. I'm actually happy for a change Drop's pricing is a little lower. It isn't much but it is still lower.

Okay... does it seem odd/silly to anyone? The 2.5mm is whopping $5 cheaper. But we ended up have to pay another $5 for shipping. What's the point of this? I believe it's free shipping from Linsoul. If I order from them, I would probably get it sooner than ordering from Drop with literally paying for the same price.

Is the 2.5mm version TRRS (balanced) or TRS (stereo)?

The real question: is this one hallowed like the other one, or do I need to hire a priest after I get it?

So for those curious, I confirmed with the DD HiFi staff that the DAC/AMP is identical to the stock Apple dongle. You should see some benefit from a more isolating stainless steel case, however, don't expect huge changes there. So basically you're paying for the build quality and form factor! On a side note, the plug does protrude quite a bit and will fit the vast majority of cases, cheers.

RJSLBSInteresting, I cannot see any entry for it in the MFi database https://mfi.apple.com/account/accessory-search I wonder if they might be literally buying the Apple adapter/DAC and reassembling it inside a different case.
