Your headphones might deliver clear, powerful sound—but if they’re not comfortable, you won’t be wearing them for long. Upgrade your pair with Dekoni ear pads, available here for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, the Beyerdynamic DT Series, and other popular cans Read More
I no longer use my Beyerdynamic MMX300 2nd gen, but these pads were the bomb!
Nowadays i'm rocking Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless with oval leather pads from brainwavz, highly recommended!
The stock Velour pads that come with the DT770s are OK. They are soft. But they are pretty thin (compared to the size of the cup) and I feel like they don’t that tight of a seal. Also I really don’t care for the shiny metallic silver color they come in.
Before the Dekoni pads I also tried Brainwavz XL pads which supposedly “fits” the DT, along with a whole bunch of other headphones. Well, they don’t. They loosely fit, and the extra leather hanging off the edges just look awkward.
The Dekoni pads fit perfectly, since Dekoni makes sizes specifically for a type of headphone, instead of one size fits fifty. Also they are comfortable and seals better than the stock velour pads. Finally, the black leather matches the color of the headband padding so they don’t look like an aftermarket mod at all.
did get the Fenestrated Sheepskins. And have only used them with DT 177x Go, will try them on 990pro later.
these pad give the 177x great comfort and change the sound a bit. Also makes them more “airy/lighter”.
But the quality of the pads seems not so great. stitching seems stretched and the leather seems dry.
Great fit and OK build quality. I didn't get the sound improvement though. But that's probably my fault - just a wrong pick :) I'll get different ones next time.
Big improvement of comfort quality while also slightly widening sound stage on T5p 2nd Gen
Sheepskin | Much better than stock pads on t5p mk2. Bass is more present while still tight. Opens up sounds stage. All that detail in the highs is still there.
