These are more comfortable than the stock pads, as they dont touch my ears as much, and it seems the sound is not changed either which I am glad for. Great!
they sent me the wrong ones, and most definitely, the ones I didn't want
I had never ordered anything from Drop, so just imagine my excitement, as I am tracking where my replacement VELOUR earpads are going, all the way from New Jersey to Alaska, I waited patiently, Drop took their time with their shipping and handling, as expected, I was okay with that, as long as I got what I needed BEFORE CHRISTMAS, now these pads are sold through, I recieved a pair of their cheapest synthetic leather pads. I specifically did not buy any of the solid material pads, as I hear those compromise the sound stage of the Headphones, and in fact they do, which is again, why I ordered velour, I was happy with stock, and will be going back to stock, until Drop sends me the ones I ORDERED WEEKS AGO, I decided why not throw em on and see how they sound, the sound stage is compromised and the bass response is slightly enhanced, but my goodness, one of these pads were IMPOSSIBLE to put on one side, I basically had to pull and stretch because the material that is supposed to be grabbing the ear cuff, just slips right out, I had high hopes for Drop, and I feel so let down :(
I got these for ATH-MSR7 for which these are the compatible pads per Dekoni website. The stock pleather pads had broken down and started to flake a lot after a few years. I'd rather buy Genuine leather pads once than buy new pleather pads every few years. Comfort is better, the pads compress but keep the driver off my ear better compared to the stock pads.
They alter the sound a small amount and in a good way...they pull down the highs and mids just a bit without losing detail and clarity. MSR-7 is a 'neutral bright' headphone to start, so this slight change is good but retains the fundamental qualities of the headphone.
Owned many headphone pads with fake leather and they eventually flake and disintegrate. Buy the sheep skin ones from Dekoni and you will be happy with them.
I absolutely love the feel and sound of the Elite Velour on my DT1990 Pro
I feel the Elite Velour pads enhance my DT1990 Pro headphone in every way. The sound is the essentially the same, to my ears, but the comfort is vastly improved. I highly recommend those to anyone with DT1990 Pros.
