Brettclue Just to let everyone know those pads dropped on dekoni's website. they're avaliable for 79.99 in elite sheepskin, fenestrated and the hybrid and its 59.99 for the elite velour
@dekoni Just received these , I wonder if these are Genuine -

My argument being, anyone can take the so called "knock off's" and slap them inside a fancy box.
On a serious note, comparing the ones from Aliexpress to the "Dekoni" ones, there was literally 0 difference. They look the same, feel the same, compress the same, glue used seems to be the same and the material feels/looks exactly the same. So there is that.
Got my hybrid today, was pretty good, and much more comfortable than the stock ones. The dust protectors i really didnt like since they touched my ears, but with them cut away and using the stock dust protectors, it was really nice.
Oops, the official XLR cables I mean,

I wonder if balanced are going to make a big difference. My amps, both TA-20 and TA-02, have the same power outputting to XLR as 6.35. The DX7s has like twice the power to the XLR but I only use it as a DAC nowadays. Plus I have the WA7 Fireflies on my upcoming wishlist. Dekoni must be pleased we're littering their thread with a discussion about cables and amps :P. I did just join the drop for the HD800 velour pads though so there's that I guess...

TrickZweiTotally agree. The headband pads are the most uncomfortable part of the HD800s. I think the stock ear pads are fine honestly but I would purchase a more comfortable headband pad in seconds.
floatingskullI know I'm late to the game, but got a cheap tip that might help: beyerdynamic pro headbands fit if you remove the original headbandpadding. The beyerdynamic pro headband adds loads of extra padding!
Immitation versions of the headband can be found for as cheap as $4.00
Need moar comfort still? Add one of those woolen headbands ($8.00) as well.
Can you please sell the damn pads so I don't have to buy them from China? Because this waiting for Massdrop thing is a real turnoff. Have you finally posted them on your site? Otherwise these are the same thing and get here faster direct from your supplier. All I need to do is cut out the built-in dust cover and pop them on.
(EDIT: Make sure to remove the built in dust covers! It muffles the treble if you don't!)
Just installed my Elite Hybrids. Tighter sound, deeper bass, and very comfortable.
I missed last drop. so I ordered velour and fenetrated from amazon and it delivered today.
I measured and listened also with my hd800s.
pad product quality itself is good enough and comfort.
but these... these just change the sound characteristic compare to original pad.
(and I knew these would be happen from someone's the reddit/head-fi review)
it lose bass/lower bass a bit which you could notice directly not only from the measurements difference.
these may need to be less thick. maybe half thickness itself.
original pad only 1/3~1/4 thickness against these. (except plastic rim, pad sponge only)
here is my measurements from hd800s with miniDSP ears.
graphs are alinged at 1khz and no smooth aplied.
red : stock L/R average.
green : fenestrated sheepskin L/R average.
blue : elite velour L/R average.
(I put the original inner liner stay in)

I do not recommend these pads to anyone who want to keep original sound characteristic.
these look good when just display at headphone hanger and feel comfort when you wearing it on.
but sound just different.
elaupersonally, for sound, stock pad is the best as it.
but even with stock, hd800s is not my daily main.
because of slight emphasized highs of hd800s make me tired early.
my ear bit sensitve that frequency area.
(I mean over 6~10 hours usage. less than 4hours maybe OK to me also)
