It is OK, but not as good as I expected
It looks very cool, but the sound quality is fine, though not as good as the Sennheiser HD series or Drop HD6XX/HD59X. Additionally, the clamp is very tight and pad size cannot cover my full ear... It could be improved

Great quality and good sound
Overall I like the build quality of these headphones, the large velvet cushions are comfortable, but I have a large head and would have appreciated the ability to extend them just a bit more. The sound quality is very crips, with good mid and high tones. However, there is more to be desired on the front-end. I like the sound signature and I think the forward facing drivers are an interesting touch, giving a bit of a different feel from similar headphones.

Know What You’re Getting Into
Full review here: https://den-fi.com/grell-oae-1-review/ But in short, these are interesting headphones but they are far from a slam dunk, and are definitely more of a risky buy if you haven’t heard them. They have a lot of bass for the bass heads (more bass than any open headphone I’ve measured and are instead more comparable in bass to a bassy closed back headphone) but I don’t perceive it as super clean. Midrange sounds kind of screechy and treble bothers me. The soundstage tricks don’t do anything for me because of how my head seems to be shaped, so while some may hear these as having large soundstage, that absolutely will not be a guarantee.

Amazing sound
I bought these headphones as a replacement (and upgrade) for my Sennheiser HD 558 to enjoy HiFi sound, as I usually use my Heavys (obviously, I like Axel Grell's sound engineering). I mostly listen to Heavy Metal, but sometimes also soundtracks, classical music, rock, electronic music, or hip hop. The sound and its details are amazing. They sit perfectly on my ears and don't hurt, even after wearing them for hours. For me, these headphones are the perfect compromise between incredible sound and a fair price. I'm using the headphones with a Motu M2, which I plug into my iPad, MacBook Air, or Windows PC.

hi, there. Thanks for the comment. I've tried to buy a cable for this headphone as you recommended, I could not find one. This 2.5mm dual cable is not easy to find. Could you let me know where you bought it?

YushinLeeHi Yusheen Lee, I bought a specific cable made by Fog City Audio, they have two versions to choose from, both have the same quality overall. This cable is nothing fancy or sophisticated but the result is very good. I strongly recommend it. But the cable is just a refinement, if you do not try without removing the damping felt you'll never know...

Every instrument has its own "stage"
So after listening to these headphones for about one month, I think I have understand their performance. While there are both positive and negative aspects to consider, here's my impressions based on my preferences for metal and rock music. Initially, I noticed that the rhythm guitar and drum snare appeared to lack presence or were recessed, sort of "suck-out" in the mix. This was a significant concern for me, as these elements are crucial in metal music. Consequently, I considered returning the headphones. However, after reading some reviews here, I decided to give them another chance. Upon further listening, I discovered that the headphones offer an impressive soundstage. Although it is not exceptionally wide, each instrument seems to occupy its own distinct space or "stage", resulting in excellent separation and placement. Even in complex tracks or multi-layered guitar compositions, such as those by Marty Friedman, I was able to discern the location of each instrument (of course, the quality and mixing of the recording mattered a lot too). This aspect of the headphones' performance proved to be quite enjoyable for me. In conclusion, my initial reservations regarding the sound signature were overcome by the headphones' exceptional soundstage. And for USD349, I think these are not bad at all & kind of fun too.
