I just bought this keyboard on pure ascetics and my Scottish heritage - I am going to pair it with a Atom Mouse when available. I would love a tutorial on using the multiple layers on this keyboard. I assume the diamond would give me access to additional functions like F keys? Total Newb here. I am looking for advice to force this to work for me.
snicklephritz87You should look up "Tokyo60 default keymap" as the board itself doesn't come with any instructions. The "fn" key to the right of the right shift is going to be your modifier to get to the function row, volume control, rgb, etc. You can also remap any of the keys with QMK, although it's a bit of a hurdle for newcomers.
I will admit, what drew me to look at this was the name. Switch the a to an e and you have my name. So minus a few points for not having a nice graphic of the name, discretely placed somewhere.
And then ... WTF !!! I have not yet decided whether I can live without the numbers row, but no properly placed Control Key is a deal breaker for me.
The search continues.
Ah, if you're able to use the corner key comfortably, then a HHKB would definitely be a poor match for you, lol. I'm envious!
Split keyboard is great, but if you were looking for an upgrade, definitely consider a dedicated gamepad/macropad. With the joystick and scroll wheel, you'd be surprised how many games you'll be able to play one handed, lol.
Oh jeeze, let me figure out what happened there.
EDIT:
Checked with the team, it looks like a bit of a photo error. We'll work on getting that fixed.
The correct sized keys will ship with the keyboard as seen here.
