SephHaleyBecause they cost pennies to produce. Even taking engineering into account, not that they are hard to engineer, lol. I mean 18 dollars is cheap for an earbud/iem but there are plenty that sound decent at that price, at least you're paying for something other than a piece of silicone that just reduces noise.
Almost all the companies producing these are taking advantage of pricing an item that should be 2-4 dollars for 4-5x that price, and sometimes above.
Why even support it?
UzuzuWell, granted this doesn’t have a FR graph attached, but that is a pretty important part of an earplug, how much sound is blocked at certain frequencies. This is VERY important, because foam earplugs that do cost pennies to make, have terrible FR’s, completely destroying treble response. Filters that have to be designed and produced cost money, and they do require funds to do so. If somebody offers a quality product, (possibly not these but I love my Earasers) I’m willing to pay for their work.
