Although DHL delivered it on 18th March, I firstly used it today. Because I shipped it to my company and COVID-19 happened I had been worked remotely. By the way, I got defective right side. When I turn my head right round, right channel is gone. :(

Atrocious quality, got them and the split is slid out and insulation comes broken. Sham Interior just cheap plastics covering. Pins are too large. This is worse than stock cables

Almost paid but i realised there's a ton of users and headfier reports on their QC and build issues. Drop should really get them off here. I usually trust Drop but this isn't the quality things they bring on.

This is Suyang from Effect Audio, thanks for all support from Drop community and we can feel the love here and we are surely doing our best to make great deals with Drop now and future. I'd like to take this chance to answer some of questions and concerns below.
  1. Origin was initially introduced to market as EA's first entry cable for our audiophile friends to replace the stock cable, that could costs you about $40-$60, however Origin is made of Silver Plated OCC material which sounds way better than stock cables on the market in terms of resolution, detail and musicality. We were selling at $89, with trade in your stock cable, there is another $39 waived, makes a $50 EA brand cable.
  2. About the warranty, it comes with one of the best warranty terms on the market for cables, which is one-to-exchange for any manufacture defects.
  3. Lead time, it will deliver to your doorstep as it stated.
  4. Our QC issues has became a top topic in 2019, and company has improved and reenforced procedure to ensure the products that we ship. We/as Effect Audio takes full responsibility of our product quality, anything initial failure happens to our product, you will get the next tier product as compensation for Free. We are confident to make our brand better and provide quality and attractive product to the community.
Regards, Suyang Founder of Effect Audio

SuyangI've read the other replies and... ouch! People will bite that friendly looking hand, I hope your reflexes are ready. Maybe Asians are friendlier online but Westerner's are just waiting to tear something apart. I'm looking forward to this, I even hope all worst QC issues show up because if you handle them well and treat me like a good person and take care of me at this level of your product line, then I'll be far more likely to consider your higher end options which are absurdly expensive. But if I can say that EA really took care of me for a 50 buck whatever, then 300+ options are relevant now. And i'm the type to be cray enough to buy Horus, I can't imagine how it would be worth it but I'd love to be proven wrong. And that's from starting at 50 dollars, the potential to get customers involved in the 1k range has to come from 50s. If you suck then I save myself a lot of time after paying a lot more for something fancy. This p;ace is experimental right? or did I miss the whole point of something, somewhere? Yeah the assholes are everywhere

SuyangHi Suyang, thanks for the gift. I think you came through. I was crazy enough to buy the ALO Gold 16 (a measly 1000) to compare, but sadly The Horus will jave to wait as COVID stole my money. Thank you for this offering though, I use it daily.

Surprised this came on Drop. My local dealer had to return the whole shipment last year and I got refunded due to build issues. I went to order direct nonetheless. Let's just say I again, got a refund.

I read many problem reports. I was really disappointed to know that Drop is selling such a low quality audio equipment and they (automatically) recommends me to purchase it. I wish they drop an official comment here.

These are the cables that come with Empire Ears IEM's, are you all shore they are no good? IDK why then a huge company in the name of IEMS would add a crap cable? My cable that came with the legend X works great. I would reconsider and not listen to others on here and try it for yourself. Its 50 bucks, its the cheapest litzs cable you are going to find ATM. Worst case you are only out 50 buck IMO, whats 50 bucks in the name of HIFI.

Don't think we're on the same page though. I understand and hear the difference between cheap and expensive cables. But I don't get why people would go for EA when they can get something equally as good for half the price.

PotatoRawrThe only difference I can hear between the two with my (subjective) ears is an increase in volume. Admittedly, this all depends on the equipment, materials and recording quality involved. Maybe the 'cheap' cables I tested were of the type to which you referred. Who knows? Audio truly is subjective. I just go with what sounds good to me. A good (expensive) cable will not make a crummy source sound better. The corollary isn't true, though: a cheap cable will definitely have a negative impact on the sound. In answer to your not getting why people would go for Effect Audio at outrageous (to me) prices is the allure of brand name smugness. I think you could show these types of people why a less-expensive but not as well known brand of cable is just as good measurement-wise, but their ears will be closed, so to speak. Some brands are worthy of such devotion, their less-expensive gear benefits from the technology developed for the pricey stuff, but I think EA is trying to dump these inferior cables assuming people will snap them up due to name recognition. Its a shame Drop allows them to do it. That's free enterprise, but we should just try to remember caveat emptor.

They are not good for $50. I traded in 4 iem cables and got 4 of these - not impressed at all. I wish I did not trade in those original iem cables.

DareToBeThat bad? I'm glad i did not proceed with the purchase. EA have been getting bad rep for their products and QC and i hesitated. Seems like it was the right choice
