A New Flagship With Plenty of Magnetic Flux
The FD5 is FiiO’s newest flagship dynamic-driver IEM—and it’s got the features to show for it. First up are the drivers: measuring an impressive 12-millimeters in diameter, these custom dynamic drivers have a beryllium-plated, diamond-like carbon (DLC) diaphragm for exceptional responsiveness. They also employ powerful N52 magnets capable of generating 1.5-Tesla magnetic flux to optimize performance for bass frequencies all the way to the high-ends. A custom-designed acoustic prism precisely controls high-frequency diffusion and phase, while eliminating high-frequency standing waves to enhance overall diffusion. FiiO’s semi-open-back “volcanic field” structure does the same for lower-frequency sound waves, all while enhancing the soundstage on the stainless steel FD5. Switch between several nozzles and plugs to find your ideal frequency and fit your listening setup.
