Product Description
A collaboration between EVE and Gateron, the Robin custom mechanical switches are a linear treat to type on. Available in 62- and 67-gram weights, these switches take their name—and colorway—from the smooth teal tones of a robin’s egg Read More

I love how people keep saying these are just "recolours" and yet they completely neglect to provide any reference as to which specific Gateron switch has been "recoloured" in their estimation (keeping all details like weight in mind). I mean maybe you're right, what do I know... but either show us the receipts or just stop being so antagonising. Sheesh... [EDIT: Most of the comments have been deleted now]

Yes. I understand all of that. And I won't deny your argumentation. But in the end, if the seller is not trying to convince me their product is better, or unique, I get suspicious. Human nature, that stuff. After all, it is not that it didn't happen in the past and people never got disappointed with a product that markets itself as new but ends up being an imitation. So don't get mad at me for exercising my cynical muscle. I'm not hurting anyone. Be cool.

marfigI'm confused, what else do you want the seller to provide? There is the actuation and bottom out rate, and all the materials used to create the switch as well as the fact that it is linear. Do you want them to specifically spell out that "X has never been done before!" Because validating that claim would be silly and evidenced by the specification list. Whether it's better or worse, especially with switches, is completely and utterly subjective. No one can tell you what switches you will or won't like. That's crazy. If you like heavy, linear switches, and Gateron Blacks just aren't enough, and are in the market for some, here you go. I don't understand your logic here. Why should anyone sell you on a switch you may or may not like? Is this your first dive into custom keyboards? These have very different specs than other Gaterons, so they aren't imitating anything, and they come factory lubed, which could potentially save me time (if they did a reasonable job). If you're not sure what kind of switches you like, there are loads of testing kits out there so you can try different switches with cherry keycaps on them or put your own on, or plug them into your keyboard and try them out. This is not here to be sold to someone that doesn't know what they want.

Are these a recolor of an existing switch or brand new?

Like others on here stated, I would love to hear a sound test of these switches. I would also love to see how good or bad the factory lubing is for these switches. Do love the minty colors though!

Which gats have 67g? The only linears I can find up there are the Zealios switches, and those are much more expensive than these. Are you saying these are basically cheaper 67g Zeal switches? Cause that would be awesome.

NoodleFlowI'm sure they would be happy to trek into the future when these switches have actually been produced, so that they can record their particular click and test the lube, just for you. But everyone knows that recordings of the future somehow turn to gibberish during the return trip. Until they can iron out that little wrinkle, nobody wants to hear about what you'll do in the meantime.

I commented earlier about how expensive these were (now deleted), but wanted to go ahead and point out I did my math wrong. My apologies.

I was complimenting you on the last switch listing for finally including a force curve in the listing without prompting. You are backsliding.

Void2258If you looked at the last switch, I'm guessing you're referencing the dark jades/moyu blacks, the force curves provided were literally t1 force curves. I personally don't think the switches themselves are t1 recolors as the stems are very clearly different in pictures.
Void2258Well thanks, I've added it in.

While I am interested, I’m not picking these up without a sound test and proper review... there’s nothing out there. At least Dark Jades had a sound test and proper review by TaeKeyboards prior to their Drop

Of course, depending on how big they are/if it's their FT job/how their workflow is, they of course will require compensation for their time and review. It also adds time in getting these products live because we will have to work with their schedule. I'll definitely work closer with these people but please don't expect an in-depth product review for every drop.

Just got them in today. Kind of a let down. They feel like Novelkey's dry/silk yellows but more scratchy. Said it was factory lubed but opened a few and they were dry (this isn't a bad thing tho cause factory lubed switches are really bad and inconsistent). Tried many different ways of lubing with krytox206g0, did not like the sound or feel on it at all and used deskeys filmed and it made the stem wobble even worst so use a thinner film or don't use one at all.

SicemisIn general I would agree with you. Quite scratchy stock. The two I opened up were also dry. Lubed & filmed, they are okay, but against the other options we have today (JWK linears, gat inks, etc.) they don't hold up. Disappointed.

SicemisHave to agree with you, mine also came in today, dry. Don't know how to describe the feel but definitely not my cup of tea, very light press and loose with high pitched sound even after lubing with Trybosis. (Although my wife loving them for the feel being so light) To me even Everglides purples are so much better than these. I guess its all matter of preference, I might try to switch stems for more tactile bump or spring. EDIT: Switched springs to 67g and filmed them. Now they are ok to me, still light but much more pronounced.
