MD--listen up!
Use your connections with Glycine/Invicta to resurrect the currently unavailable GLYCINE COMBAT 6 VINTAGE (GL0122) with the BLACK dial, full Arabic numerals, and (any-kind-of) strap or bracelet you like!
Looks like this:

Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult (fairly simple watch), and I guarantee the watch-world will beat a path to your door--lot's of pent up demand for that baby!Remember: black dial, white luminescent full Arabic numerals--don't fuck it up!
Yet another "the worst deal in the history of trade deals". You can get this one cheaper with the next day shipping. The only reason in my opinion to consider getting this drop is if you're buying outside of US/CA - less chances of custom duty through the Drop than other websites (based on my personal experience only with shipping to EU :)
This style isn't my cup of tea, but as a recent Glycine owner (Combat 6) I can say that it is one of the most impressive watches (build/design/accuracy) I've come across in recent years.
It's also become one of my favorites.
No, I don't think it's junk at all--someday I hope to own one myself (but I'm more into their stainless line myself).
Congrats on getting in on it and don't forget to post some photos when it arrives!
William1969Nice pics of the blue option, I have this identical Sub Com Bronze to you in brown; there appears to be three options in bronze for this watch. I much prefer this one, yours to the current one for sale; I find the lume on this model to be the best of all three, and although I like the Tudor look; much prefer the little bit of difference in this model you and I own. Does look real nice in the blue, maybe I should buy a stable mate for my brown one!! When this model comes around again.
I was thinking I need a waterproof watch because I can’t read the busy dial on my Seiko SNA01, but I can’t fathom alleged dive watches with leather bands and that is a deal-killer.
Some seiko ship with extra silicone band ,even when the main band is steel!!!! So do some other companies. but as the man said a lot of people don't ever even get the watch wet; I know I don't and I have three diver watches!!!
TROPICAL straps are the way to go.
Once the genuine items was hard to find and pricey when you did, but now everyone and their brother is selling some version and the prices and color selection has improved greatly.
Geckota watch has some nice examples:
Drop doesn't do group buys anymore--that was back in the early 1700s. This is the new millennia.
In the interim since then, men have walked on the moon, invented the internet, and impeached trump at least twice.
You never got the memo?
yeah that's true, good point (on orient and seiko being here). and drop does make bulk orders to sell stuff to enthusiasts at a cut rate (or at least that was their initial objective as a company). hmm, don't know what to tell ya then. guess guys like DH maybe just don't have an interest in dealing with Drop, or vice versa?

Guess what’s back?
back again.
Glycine’s back.
You have no friends.
Another Invicta posing as a Glycine. I have 3 Glycines. Two are "Pre-Invicta" Takeover and the third is post. Thankfully it still had the ETA 2836-2 (GMT) movement, but definitely a quality difference that was immediately noticeable. One of the "Pre-Invictas' is a white faced Airman Base 22 GMT on original Jubilee bracelet from 2014-15. These watches have a screw down Bezel Lock to keep them tightly in place once set. It works perfectly. I also have a 42mm Sub Combat with blue dial, complete 1-12 Arabic numbering, and orange bezel with ETA 2824-2, and they're great watches. I get a lot of comments on the color combination of the Sub. At the end of 2018 I bought a "Vintage" styled 38mm Airman GMT with black dial, stainless 24hr bezel with the numbers done in a rose/bronze color. Has a nice white stitched black leather strap and the good movement. In closer examination I realized they put the crowns on incorrectly. The big crown with cross hatching that's for locking the bezel is being used to set the time. The smaller logo crown that's supposed to be for time setting is on the Bezel Lock and it's too small so it won't go down far enough to do what it's supposed to. The piece that bites into the teeth of the bezel moves around freely because of it, the bezel doesn't lock, and it makes a noise that just really pi-ses me off. I bought direct from Glycine/Invicta and get no response from the 10 times I've contacted them! WTH?? This has all been since the Invicta takeover. I've heard people say they're safe because their's has the "Old Glycine Logo" and not the logo with the "wings", so it's Pre-Invicta. WRONG! Both of mine from 4 to 5 years ago have the 3 Dimensional Logo with the "wings" and the one from 2018 has the old, "Original" logo. I know there are a ton of people who love their Invictas and I'm happy for you all and respect the fact that you like what you like. However, there is a massive quality and service difference since the changeover. It kind of sucks. My personal jeweler is going to switch the crowns around for me. RIDICULOUS! Oh, for those who say they're safe because they've got an "Old Logo" model, take a look at the watch for sale....Hmmmm! Also, the retail is $1,650?
WHEN AND WHERE WAS THIS PRICED AT THAT?? If that's the case I now have $15K worth of Glycines! Anyone interested? NOT! It's classic Invicta Sales Marketing at work! Better get my boots on because it's getting kind of deep around here already. Is this place now an offshoot of EVINE LIVE/SHOP HQ?? I'm just asking!
Well I hope you and everyone else crashed Hodinkee's website when they sold a re-issued classic 18K gold grail watch for $400 a piece, limited to 50 production units. Either they were on crack, or you had a little fun with Photoshop. Well done, great way to prove your point.
Who's lying? Somebody's lying! As I've mentioned before, watch photography is tricky business and generally the person being tricked is YOU! We give MD a hard time about their product shots all the time, and in this instance it looks like the shot used (MD never takes them) have been toned down quite a bit, rather than tuned up as is normally the case (Hamilton you listening?).
To see what I mean, I snagged this shot of the green 10268 model from Gnome's site--big difference compared to MDs shot above, no?

Now what color the watch really is (and who's lying about it) is something you'll have to determine on your own. I myself have been color-deceived on more than one occasion, so I can't emphasize enough the importance of seeking out the widest variety of alternate still and video sources to confirm the true color of any watch you're considering--especially when in-person viewing isn't possible.
By the way, Genome is charging $165 dollars more than MD is for the same watch, so what they may lack in representing the true shade of green this watch is or isn't, at least they're trying to save you some GREEN (granted, that expression may not apply outside of the US, but you know what i mean ;- )
Genome also has a nice turntable video on their site that's a must see if you're consider this watch. Here's the link:

RayFDrops photos are more accurate to the colour of the watch faces. I personally have the blue one in my collection, it is a dark blue, not navy dark.
At least they seem to have a decent strap and buckle now, the GLO 188 I bought 13 months ago had the worst strap and buckle which I replaced quick smart. But it did have a much better dial with large applied lume indices and dots. It does have a sellita SW200 movement, but I don't necessarily think it has to be an Invicta affected watch as the rest of the watch particularly the dial and lume is great. But apart from the logo it seems hard to tell the difference.
