I have one of these blue aluminum Hamilton, and I'm very happy with this watch. It's mine since last october, and at the moment, has no significant scratches. Of course, I don't wear it on a daily basis, because I have more watches. But I love it. Not very big, and extremely light.

Like the black finish, but still prefer the original stainless case on this watch - bracelet or leather.

I purchased the SS version about two years ago on a clearance sale for $359 gray mkt. It has a modified ETA 2824, which has been averaging 4-5 seconds fast per day when stored dial-up. The countdown timer is screwdown, but is too fiddly to use while on my 7” wrist, unlike a dive bezel. The SS bracelet is good quality, but I wear it on either a C&B leather strap or their special perlon. Wears comfortably, with short lug-to-lug.

No mechanical issues and am totally pleased. I considered the aluminum models at the time, but they were approx $100 more than SS on clearance. Reliable movement at good price, but not sure how well they would “dress up” with strap changes... *Edit: I had to add a pic that didn’t have lighting like a fallout bunker. *

Oh! What's all this about scratches then? Scratches on a man's watch give it character! They show the world you're not the kind of guy who sit's around doing needlepoint all day! No, you're a man of action and adventure! I say wear you scratchy old watch with pride!

Had never heard of him; had to look him up. Reminded me why I quit watching television in '02. --not 1902; the other '02.

I bought the blue one late last year and threw it on an Erika's Original MN strap. Super comfy, and the blue anodized case is pretty unique. No scratches yet, but I'm also pretty easy on my watches.

For those considering this watch, here's a link to a decent video walk-around showing the watch in hand:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvF0YyDFw0M The models in this drop are the Aluminum versions but the watch is also available (at a higher cost) in stainless steel with a stainless bracelet. That version, with the black dial and bezel, is the REAL stand-out of the bunch. Unfortunately MD isn't offering that model on this drop, but you can see how cool it looks in this Rambling Rob review:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSqjDu7ZLkk I'm not saying the stainless version is better than the aluminum version (although obviously it's more durable), I'm just saying the stainless and black color combination is better looking than the aluminum models.

Truthfully, I'd wear any of them, and in a perfect world, I'd buy 'em all too ;- ) My preferences not withstanding, MD's price on this watch ain't bad!

I know a few gentlemen who own this model, and love them. They tell me it feels extremely comfortable on the wrist due to its' lightweight aluminum case, and has the same quality features as its' stainless steel counterpart. As for Drop's price, you'll have to be the judge.

This watch is on Nordstrom Rack right now. Also, Nordstrom Rack has lost their minds. Or badly needs to jettison stock. I know Gevril is not a clamored for brand. However, they have watches discounted up to 98%??? Those are mostly sold out, but if you wanted a big watch for cheap money. They also have a few automatic chronos for well under $500, for men and women... https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/product/1913111/gevril-womens-astor-diamond-leather-strap-watch-40-mm-0-24-ctw?color=WHITE

So on the fence for this piece... I'd really like that blue colorway with champagne/vintage lume and numbers... very suspicious of an aluminum body though...and Hamilton's underwhelming lume applications...

Yes, so indeed if people are not complaining, then I guess this could be scratch-proof aluminum with hard-on 😁
