The Kailh Box Speed Ultimate Linear Mechanical Switch is an exercise in mech keys power, precision, and poise. As implied by the name, the goal of this linear switch is to provide ultimate speed, with solid rebound force. That’s all thanks to a longer-than-usual, 20.5-millimeter noise-reduction spring that provides tremendous upward force after each actuation, but doesn’t come with a lot of ping or thunk. The 3.6 millimeters of actuator travel provides a slightly shorter roundtrip for quicker typing and gaming, while the 45 grams of actuation force is perfect for those who like things light but not too light. And because this switch features the high-end polycarbonate and POM construction found in much of Kailh Box’s lineup—alongside that new quiet-focused spring—there’s a lot to love (but not a lot to hear).
