kipyminymanAbsolutely nothing out of the ordinary. ;) (Zeal has a reputation for claiming competing products are stealing their IP.)

I'm sorry but that price is absurd for a BOX Switch thats competing along the lines of the Novelkey's BOX Royal switches, even compared to other BOX Switches that price is ridiculous and I see no way for it to be justified other than it being marked up just because other "famous" tactile Switches like Zeal's or MD Holy Pandas are sold around that price per switch point. BOX Royals being the closest thing are sold for around $0.45 - $0.50 a Switch, for a pack of 70 your would usually pay around $33.00 or $35.00 depending on vendor, here your asking for 70 switches for $52.00, that goes down to being $0.70-$0.75 a switch , literally $0.30 cents away from being a dollar a switch, compare this to the price of other more common BOX Switches that are usually sold around $0.30 a switch, its a markup of roughly 40%... So how about explaining the big reason behind the 40% markup? The highest I would drop on these (no pun intended) would be $0.55 a switch or $40.00 for 70 switches and thats with the risk that these are even decent seeing as there is not currently much information on these at the moment. Hard pass but I'd rather get these for a lower price elsewhere down the line than pay a markup of %40 when BOX Royals only have a markup of %20.

And don't feel that good anyway (IMO) because the tactile force on the slider is asymmetrical. Not to mention the glassy sound and friction hot-spots inherent in all Box switches, even when lubed.

They’re priced accordingly to current market prices for “premium” switches like Gat Inks and Zeals. If they stand up to those switches, then it works out for them. If it doesn’t, it sucks for the earlier purchasers that tried them out, but it makes more sense for Kailh as a business. They can always lower prices if the demand is low, but there’s a limit to how much they can raise prices if demand is high (probably close to $0) before people think they’re getting ripped off. Would be a major loss in potential profit. Honestly, other then Cherry, Kailh is the only major switch company that doesn’t seem super shady, so I don’t feel too bad about giving them money. They already offer the best switches for the money and is the only company to offer truly different switch designs. They probably don’t want to be known as a budget MX clone brand anymore.

The price is still simply too high for switches with almost no reviews, data, or presence. These are the most expensive BOX switches by a good margin and barely anyone knows anything about them.

Is the bottom part closed? The point of box switches is the IP56 dust & water resistance, which depends upon the bottom being open for water & debris to drain out.

equaluniqueIt doesn't matter. You really don't want to be in a situation where you need water to drain out of the switch, and if that were to happen your board is likely toast anyway.

Couldn't resist another model of switch, courtesy of MD. Went for both 62 and 67g models here. Always good to try out new switches from this company, they never stop releasing another style of BOX switch. Even though I still have some of their previous Key-cap destroying switch stems, they are still working superbly. Just never buy any GMK key-caps because using the cheapest caps, is good enough for now.

rondghappy to hear that.
Call me crazy, but I think that they are chasing the wrong demographic with the clear housings. That’s one of the problems people had with tealios, they said that vintage blacks were barely smoother, and also that they just sounded better, attributing to the thick top and bottom housings among other things. I think that the clear housings just make it sound more or less empty. Not that it makes a huge difference, but still.

iLostMyToeInVietnamFrom what I can tell with sound tests, they seem to sound pretty alright. Better than most BOX switches at least.

They ever get around to fixing the stem twist issue with box switches that causes the keycaps to sit all wonky? Or is stuff like this still within "acceptable tolerances"?

No it wasn't a switch alignment issue. That's what I thought it was at first too, but the only solution was removing and replacing the worst offenders. Once I had them out I discovered that you could see the issue just test fitting them in a switch tester.
LevelSteamI bought some Box Jade switches from Novelkeys last week and they still had this issue.
