For the piece I received, the lume is almost non existent. Even if I leave it in the sun, or hit it with a flashlight (from anything but point blank range), it barely glows. It is not like watch lume. I’m sure this is part of the process of embedding it in the carbon fiber. No wonder drop didn’t include lume shots, they dropped the ball again (and me for idiotically giving them my money for no good reason).
The only plus side is that it is still a carbon fiber leek.
Only plus side.
I have a Seiko flighty supposedly showing up from them this month, and if they fuck this up, I’m done. Honestly, just trying to think of something positive to say about the garbage I have experienced from massdrop (yeah that’s what they called themselves, had to rebrand to get away from their history).
Every single thing from them is screwed up in some way, the exception is probably items they never put their hands on.
prove me wrong.
(notice the lower case “p” in “prove me wrong”). On every other paragraph I had to manually capitalize the first word on mobile.
just get your shit together.
Yeah the stock Leek is great, super fast opening and perfect blade for slicing.
My only complaint is the metal scales. They are just too slick for me given it's narrow profile. But I've had it several years now and it hasnt bugged me enough to replace them and I doubt the resin carbon fiber would do anything for the slickness.
JaegerDI forgot the pocket clip, I personally just hate anything that is not a deep carry. Thats my other gripe for the knife. That being said, I got it for about 25 bucks new, so the complaints are minor, considering all the pros. Easily worth the 40 or 50 it sells for in my opinion
Amazingly these are legal in the UK, good price this too for here, even with duty which will run at about 23%, about $200 here for this version so I've snapped one up, just hope it gets through customs because they seem to be a bit of a law unto themselves. nice one Drop.
Ktang7711If you buy another one with a stonewash blade, sure, you could swap them out.
At that point though, might be cheaper to find someone who can stonewash this blade for you maybe?
Ahh yes, Drop at it again. One too many bonghits of that grand daddy purps, and they forget to upload a picture of THE MAIN SELLING POINT of this knife. It's glow in the dark feature! Like, come on, man. Way to drop (pun intended) the ball on that. You had one job, but a dab or two later and you find yourself questioning the meaning of life, completely unfocused, forgetting the task at hand. I swear, one day you guys might actually get it right. Until then, lemme get a fat dab of that wax, yo!
My golden retriever has a glow in the dark chuck-it ball. You have to “charge” it in bright light and it fades sooner than you might expect; eventually it won’t charge anymore.
