Product Description
From KZ, a company that’s made a name for itself with its shockingly inexpensive multiple-driver IEMs, the AS16 represents a push into a higher tier. It features eight balanced-armature drivers in each ear that are arranged in a layout to separately handle low, mid, and high frequencies Read More
I do believe these IEM's will eventually turn out to be just THAT, in ear Monitors!! Just received mine in the post via PRC somewhere. They came in a tidy box with a cable and the ear-tips they promise. Good so far. It also comes with an Chinese/English dictionary that has to be a 1 pica. Yes, that makes it a little difficult for these old eyes to make out. The pictures aren't too bad. I do recommend you read the instructions thoroughly especially if you like to experiment with balanced cables. No not 3 conductor. To be brief for now, DO NOT SELL THESE SHORT!!
So I set them up put on an "Upgrade" cable, 16core, 16strand. Boy is this cable flexible and from what I can tell, kink-free. My DAP only puts out 150mW per channel, balanced. But I wanted to make sure I didn't blow them up before I finished aging them and the cable. My DAP manufacturer recommended a minimum of 100 hours before they will even start to level off. So we'll see. I will tell this though. One of my favorite albums is Clapton's Pilgrim album. I like to use it because it has some faint sound effects and these buds picked it up LOUD. GOOD. But right where it belongs. I made my digital copies from the CD entitled the same. I use GoldWave which from one of Maritme Provinces in Canada. $45 for a lifetime license.. I forget where I heard about them but the software makes it easy to convert to lossless.. It does not make DSD but that is okay because it makes everything from everything else. Check 'em out. What sold me on them is that some of their clients are: NASA, NOAA, USN as in underwater recording. So I figured if its good enough for life and death, its good enough to make awesome .flac lossless with encoding for 24bit, 192K.
So by the end of next week I should be able to turn up my new toys for my deaf ears and Taking In the View.
