Lime Ears earned an esteemed reputation among audiophiles with its Aether R IEMs. Now, the brand is back with a second flagship: the Model X. Featuring four balanced armatures per earbud (including two low-end drivers), the Model X delivers a big sound with detail to rival the five-driver Aether R. Like its older brother, it comes with an onboard switch that can be used to change between two sound signatures: one warm and V-shaped, the other more mid-to-high-focused. On both settings, VariBore and PAR (Passive Acoustic Resonator) technology complement the Model X’s drivers with precise sound-bore shaping for pleasing acoustic properties. A vented construction further widens the soundstage, while an ergonomically shaped case adds comfort and aesthetic appeal in three Drop-exclusive finishes.
