Product Description
An updated version of the popular A3, LZ’s new flagship IEM, the A4, has been getting a lot of attention on Head-Fi for its excellent sound and build quality. The titanium-silver composite-diaphragm dynamic driver and dual Knowles balanced-armature drivers work together to produce a smooth, detailed sound, while the MMCX detachable cables offer flexibility for users who might want to switch them out down the road Read More
Please just do ur own research online. I didn't see A4 sell off-online.
Online, in China, I only see it's selling on Taobao, only 1 store. It shows 149 purchase, 8 feed-back.
DN2000, not include Taobao, on Jingdong (B2C in China), over 200 Feed-back (not purchase) (maybe simple way 200/8*149? and then *2?)
DN2000j, not include Taobao, on Jingdong, over 200 feed back
DN2002, not include Taobao, on Jingdong, over 100 feed-back
Amazon in us, 1 purchase for A4
Ebay, 5 purchase
Maybe more on Aliexpress, please go to check.
I don't know Massdrop sold A4 before or not, plz let me know.
So you tell me you own a pair of DN2000 or DN2000j, I believe you. But u tell me you both own A4 and DN2000 or DN2000j, it's just hard to believe.
So maybe Chinese customers are not smart enough to see A4 is better, and most of them not chose A4, but my point is, you can see here is a risk right? . And how big gap will between the sound quality of DN2000j and A4? I just don't think so.
Is A4 good, I think it is, at least what I heared. Is A4 better than DN2000j? As I know most people will not agree. As a hand -made IEM, A4 is not alone in China, those hand-made IEM are good stuffs, but they are not "Mass production products".
I just hope when some bad thing happen, people will not keep blaming Chinese products with poor quality.
Hope these words will help u
In the audio world (especially in high end audio), it is rarely a purchase-and-forget scenario. Even when someone is happy with a headphone or IEM, they often end up buying and trying out many, many other ones. Sometimes you get the sound you enjoy, and sometimes you don't. Sometimes you find gems that are great value for the money, and other times you feel like you substantially overpaid. If you can't decide what to do, you can buy used (if available). That way, you will likely lose less money through it all.
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the LZ A4 IEM and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment. As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 2/15.We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 2/10.If you have any questions, please visit our Help Center (http://massdrop.com/helpcenter).
Today's the 15th and we still haven't received an update, or ship notification. Where's the info, Massdrop?
Been wondering the same thing. A little disappointing when we're all already waiting longer to purchase these on this website than we probably would somewhere else. Even if they don't have any news to report, at least fulfill your promise of an email to tell us that.
estajoeI've had numerous (6) back-and-forths with Massdrop's customer service help desk over the issue. They refuse to supply a reason why neither e-mail was sent on time; and are acting as though a new e-mail with the same info (status update on X day, shipping expected on Y day) is good enough.
I can be sure this is the last time I'll use Massdrop. It's really not worth the often marginal savings, unknown delivery times, and poor customer service/communication.
It's rather disappointing that both the last 2 drops I have got in on have suffered major delays. Don't think I'll be using Massdrop again. It's really not worth the often marginal savings and unknown delivery times.
wuhanclanyeah i sort of agree....it's not so much i care about about the delays , I mean I do, I just keep giving them the benefit of the doubt that they'll communicate, and when there is a delay over communicate. We get an update two days after the expected shipping date, at the end of the day, and it tells us nothing....."our vendor is still working to pack and gather the group's order"....what does that even mean? It takes more than a day to pack an order? Frankly it's silly
Wow, I think these sound incredible. I got mine yesterday. I thought the NuForce NE800's were good till I heard these. Now the NE800 sound like MEE audio in comparison, with a little more base. To me, these are very similar sounding to my Hifiman HE 400i, with a little less soundstage width. I am very impressed. They are easy to drive and get much louder, much quicker than the NE 800's. Separation is very good and soundstage is good as well, just not equal to my open back cans, obviously. Details are nice and the base is just right for me. I tried the red back filters, but it is just a little too much with some music for me. It actually sounds like I am getting some distortion in certain songs with the volume past half way, with the red filter. I am going with the blue fronts and the black in back, for now.
My one annoyance is the ear tips provided. I can't get any of them to stay on the filter. I keep pulling them off when I take them out of my ears. Anyone know the size I would need to order some Comply tips for these? I have tried 4 different sizes , with one of the four staying on sometimes.
There is no ear hook but I tighten up the slider on the cords a little bit to put some slight tension on them. Not enough to bother me. I don't see any indicator on inserting them, but it wasn't hard. I have been shopping around for a new cable to try. I think these would be worth a new cable, but I have never bought any really good cables before, so this will be a first for me.
Just got these from the latest drop and they are awesome... These have some serious bass to them (I'm using the blue nozle filter and red back filter), and they have some traces of tubey sound which I absolutely love. Would definetly recommend it for anyone looking for a good sounding pair of IEM's without breaking the wallet and like to have a good amount of bass present.
Also, if anyone wants the specs for the filters:
I got these during the last drop. HIGHLY recommended. While the filter system is neat, I personally think it's mostly a gimmick, as most people will likely use filters with the widest range of frequency response anyway (because why wouldn't you). But these IEMs sound amazing, they are definitely worth it.
I guess "gimmick" wasn't the optimal word. You are both right, they definitely do change the sound signature. Since the "best" sound is ultimately subjective, the filters really are a nice feature and make a noticeable difference. I just wanted to express how good they sound on their own, regardless of filter choice.
nmnb92I posted some measurements just now of the filters in the Head-Fi thread. The filters change the sound significantly.
Black front filters are the baseline/middle/average compared to all the others. Same with the back filter.
I like these, however the right monitor is distorting significantly. I sent a note about this to the help center one week ago and all I got was an acknowledgement that the note was received. I called the main number today and all you get is a recording directing you to the help center. The inaccessibility of customer support and the slowness of the response has me wondering if I should just stop using Massdrop in the future. Massdrop: do you actually provide customer support? How long do you think is reasonable to reply to a support request? I see below another complaint about support. Please up your game!
tomcunOk I owe Massdrop a partial apology. Given that Massdrop emails reach me perhaps 3 or 4 timer per day sometimes I never thought support emails would be end up in spam. The original Massdrop response: return ship for refund, was within 3 or 4 days
