Lovely looking, but flawed
5 stars for Drop's customer service and delivery (to UK) just as advertised. 3 stars for the knife itself. Good looking and flawed, just as italian cars are. Good action, sharp and solid blade, good lock-up The thumbs are rounded, wich makes for a difficult finger grip, especially for those with larger fingers. Remove the pocket clip and you'll find it easier to open. Just a slight push of the thumbs and a flick of the wrist and it will snick right open. I haven't experienced any ceramic bearings knife, but this Maserin opens just right with its teflon washers. Blade was slightly misaligned when closed, seems better centered after two weeks of sporadic use. The D2 scales don't fit properly with the wooden scales and the scale screws protrude inside, nearly ( less than 1mm) touching the blade when closed. I wouldn't however recomend this to a friend as they might be quite nitpicking.

good blade
the handle feels great and the blade is slander, but not too thin and sleek. Came sharp. Nice feel and there are knobs where the handle dips in to make it easier to open the knofe. At this price, it's a great buy

Great value!!
Was impressed by this knifes value. It is very lightweight for its size, and fits well in my pocket with my wallet and keys. My only real complaints are that I wish that it was easier to open one handed, and that the pocket clip didn’t get caught on my seatbelt in the car. For the price, it offered value for me. It is definitely a beginner knife, as it has room for improvement. I’ve had worse knives that cost more, so it’s a wash for me. I did not have any of the issues that other reviews posted, or haven’t looked that closely. Didn’t really matter much in the end.

Pretty good, if it was 2000
This would have been a pretty decent knife around 20 years ago, but for $40, it lacks a lot of modern day quality. Build quality issues and nitpicks: teflon washers makes for poor action. rather stiff opening. the screws to hold the handle scales are drilled wrong causing the screws to protrude, almost touching the blade. the blade swedge is ground unevenly Major Issues I found out after 15 minutes of getting the knife in my hand: -the thumb stud. it is rounded off, does not protrude very far, and sticks very close to the scale. this makes for a 1 handed opening near impossible. The rounded head makes it slippery, there is not a lot to catch onto, and it is difficult to fit the meat of your thumb between the stud and the scale. -the clip. positioned for tip down carry, it also protrudes quite far. the whole clip is a hotspot for use Pros: very slicy, and has a thin distal taper. the blade performance itself is really good. the wood scales, g10 'bolsters' and blacked out liners make for a nice contrast. ergos without the clip feels pretty good. This is definitely a project knife. personally, swap the washers with phosphorous bronze ones, fix the swedge, replace the g-10 and wood inlays with.... something else, and most importantly do something with the horrible horrible thumb stud. But if you don't like project knives, I would strongly suggest you try out any other knife. following up after a few weeks of use: i found out that the lock wont engage on 'soft' openings. blade shape is great at cutting, and handle is very ergonomic

All show, no go!
First impression...this is a knife built for Instagram. In pictures, it looks amazing. But as soon as you hold it in your hand, you know you’ve been lied to. Pros.. -The blade feels solid enough. Sharp out of the box and feels sturdy. -Lockup is tight with good, deep bite. I’m confident the blade will not close unexpectedly. -Unlike other reviews, the bevel ok mine are clean and well defined. -Okay, we’re done with Pros. Cons... -The handle is a travesty. Ugly, lightweight, ill fitting, and completely lacking in confidence (more about this below). -There is a rounded plastic bead that tops the thumb stud, so your thumb slides off the stud half the time. Takes way too much effort to open the knife. -The G10 looks more like cheap plastic. Why? It throws the entire aesthetic off. Would have been 10x nicer had the handle been all wood. Which leads me to... -The transitions between the wood and G10 panels are a disaster. Not one seam lines up. Good chance I’ll have to take a wood file to the seams to get them smooth. It’s amazing any factory would allow a knife off the line with this poor QC. -The screws that retain the scales stick up above the scales, so the handle feels terrible in the hand. If you tighten them to recess them, they interfere with the blade path. Horrible design. -The entire handle feels thin, weak, and flimsy. I wouldn’t use this for any job that required more force than opening an envelope or and Amazon box. That with a blade that’s just slightly too thin to have confidence in, and I’d assume that if I needed this to actually do work, I’d expect it to break and possibly injure or harm me. Overall, this knife is a ripoff. I fell for the sexy photos and the Italian pedigree. But in the end, I feel deceived. Avoid this knife at all costs!!

Looks like a duck, smells like a duck...
... but it's a toad? Sort of a mixed bag here. Pros: +Supposed D2 steel should hold up over time. +Chocobolo wood does look nice when paired with the G10. +With some adjustment (see below), action is very good for a teflon washer-based knife. +Centering is perfect to the naked eye. +Lockup is perfect for me (entire lock face touches tang, with the leftmost parts of the tang and lock face touching) Cons: -Out of the box, action and fit were abysmal. No Loctite was used, blade play was jokingly high, and action was stiff. -While the blade can fly out with the thumbstuds, the studs are rounded too much, and half the time your thumb slides off. -The clip is a hot spot when opening the knife. In order to flick the knife out, your fingers rest on the clip, which then flexes, not giving you the base you need. In reality, I may just remove the clip and pocket carry this knife. -The clip is too long. It flexes too much going in and out of the pocket, and I am afraid I will break it. -Even after complete disassembly, fit and finish leaves something to be desired. The screws that hold the scales in place enter the path of the blade when closed if tightened too much. The G10 and whatever the scales are don't align perfectly. The scales don't sit flush with the steel liners. Even the clip screws can enter the path of the blade when tightened too much. -Pocket clip is tip down only. :( -THE WORST CULPRIT: hopefully I can get a decent picture, but the factory grind is HORRENDOUS. I don't own a dedicated sharpener, and while the grind itself doesn't affect the cutting ability (mine cuts through paper and cardboard seamlessly), the bevels are SO BAD that I think I could do better with my dinky WorkSharp Field Sharpener. Shame, really. Final Thoughts: If the blade grinds were better, more care was taken with the wood scales, and the pocket clip were a better design, this would be a decent budget option. It looks classy, the D2 (if it is D2) will last a long time between sharpens, and the action is surprisingly good, but the cons far outnumber the pros. If you want a knife to tinker with to get "just right", this may be it. I got mine working okay after some tender-loving-care. But, I shouldn't have to. And that's a shame.

Looks Great...from a Distance
Knife came very sharp, but with some issues... - Hard to use the thumb stud - Fit and Finish leaves a lot to be desired. Where the two materials meet they aren't even close to matching up
