Is the 3.5mm TRS a line out or a preamp out? Can the volume pot be used to control the volume for powered monitors? I'm wondering if this is the desktop solution I'm looking for.

CEE_TEEDoes this mean I can use the SDAC section with other amps in the future? Like a solid state for example?

MasterRaceYes, if you put this on top of a Liquid Carbon X you can run a 3.5mm to RCA cable from the SDAC to the LCX.
