I hate them straight out of the box!! Hoping they break in???
Not sure if it's because I am used to "lively, warm" sound from the Blon03 IEMs but these sound lifeless to me. All mid in your face. No high and the bass is lackluster. Soo disappointed after reading a lot of great reviews. These are prob flat/neutral and it's not a sound that I want to hear. Very dry and dead sounding to me. Tried all the different ends and fit was great. I think I was literally shocked at how bad these sound. Even at $200 I paid for these with the upgraded cable I won't be using them.

Poor quality construction
Never had a $300 IEM break on me back to back for the same problem. As a background, I've owned IEM's from Westones, UE's, Shures, Hifimans, AKG's, RHA's, etc etc. But hands down the worst construction. 1st pair. I was replacing the stock cable. When removing the cable, the two pin connectors broke off and stayed inside the contact points. As far as I'm concerned that was the end of the IEM's life. 2nd pair. They sent me a second pair. Same thing here. Tried replacing the cable, the entire assembly came off including the internal cables. All I did was try to gently remove the cable....FFS Warranty is up so that's that. No matter the sound quality which is about what you expect at this price point, I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

They WERE great for 4 months
So, I loved the sound of these, and they were great for isolation. However, I ignored the notes about them having poor build quality and being fragile, thinking that was just people who weren't taking care of their headphones. For the 4 months I've had them, they stayed in the case except for when I wore them. These fell onto the ground ONCE and the shell on the left earbud lost a large segment of outer covering. I contacted customer service, and they said that accidental damage is not covered. I've owned several dozen pairs of headphones and I've never had a pair so fragile that it breaks easier than most glass phones... Honestly, this makes me likely to no longer waste any more money on this website when the support is so poor for one of their own products.

failed after less than two years
Edit June 5th 2022: right earbud just failed after less than two years. So far from Massdrop I've bought their own IEMs, Nuforce EDC3s, Pinnacles and JVCs. They have *all* failed except the JVCs. This is very poor quality. Meanwhile my boring uncool Shures have outlasted all of them. So have my Samsung/AKG buds. My advice: avoid any IEM made or designed by Massdrop/Drop. It's a shame as they have good ideas, the Plus being a superb design, but then ship out really horribly badly made junk. Old review remains below. I just wiped my original 3 star review. I had a problem on receiving these, which was that Drop didn't include silica gel/desiccant in the packaging and one earpiece or one side of the cable seemed dead on arrival. They gave me a $20 refund (thinking the cable was not good). I warmed my Massdrop Plus, including cable, in a fan oven at about 50 degrees Celsius for several hours to deal with any humidity issues and since then they have worked perfectly at all times. I have since bought a small USB powered hearing aid dehumidifier and I now routinely dehumidify my different IEMs every few weeks. This has revived one other pair I thought was dead! I've been using these for several hours daily for 3 months. Often they are in my ears for many hours a day. My other current IEMs are Massdrop EDC3, Shure SE215, Samsung/AKG EO-IG955BSEGWW & for full size headphones I have Massdrop HiFiMan HE4XX, Sennheiser Momentum circumaural 1st gen, Koss Porta Pro, Koss KSC-75. Also I have owned Shure SE425, Shure SE535, Ultimate Ears 600vi and a load of other stuff not worth mentioning. The Massdrop Plus is my favourite headphone of any type. It does need a source with very low output impedance else the low frequencies become a muddy, bloated mess. With high quality amplification it is extraordinarily revealing, detailed, clear, deep, open, three dimensional. The bass digs very, very deep but never smears or overwhelms the midrange. You'd never guess this bass is coming from a multi balanced armature IEM and not a large diameter dynamic. It's really impressive. I've never liked the bass on a BA IEM before. Much of the music I love is orchestral, vocal, acoustic. The Plus handles that huge dynamic range easily. It never adds its own resonances or any ringing to choirs or female vocals, and never lacks detail or authentic reproduction of the bass and mids. It just feels incredibly lifelike. I loved the Massdrop EDC3, and they are extraordinarily three dimensional, but they do have some resonance issues. I love openness of my HiFiMan planar Magnetics, but the Plus ultimately is better balanced. Of course isolation helps. And these isolate brilliantly. These fit me like they were made for me personally. Just find the right memory foam tip that suits you and buy them in bulk! The Plus, with a good foam tip, give me better isolation than any IEM I ever used and that includes Shure SE series and Klipsch IEMs that inserted deep like Etymotics. At the same time they are so comfortable that you can forget you are wearing them. I do find them to be extraordinary in this respect. A truly thoughtful and well executed design. I even like the cable! I see some people don't but it is high quality, low resistance, very soft and comfortable. The actual 2 pin part is very tiny and fits in the earpieces very snug so nothing presses on your ear. I always like to have a spare so have spent a lot of time looking at alternatives but most of them have rather big cylindrical pin housings and only very few have that part of their design done right and also have a jack that works well with a thick smartphone case. Next time Drop have a sale I'm buying the exact same cable for a spare. I would *strongly* recommend the Massdrop Plus to anyone who wants something truly remarkably good and who appreciates that it needs a high quality, low impedance source to shine. I love it!

Shell cracked within seconds
I'm not sure if they arrived with a manufacturing fault or if the shell is just that brittle, but it seems I applied pressure along a slightly unintended axis causing the shell to immediately fault. Subjectively it also feels very thin and brittle, especially compared to my previous IEMs which had a much, much stronger/thicker shell. Would never buy them again. I'll attempt seeing if I can repair them with some form of glue but I'm skeptical.

Looks like Drop ...dropped the ball
DROP now has no info on my iem and 3 other orders. I’m done with Drop and the way they do business. They take the funds up front and you don’t even get an accurate update on shipping status. I feel like I’ve been ripped off. What reputable company behaves this way? I am so done with them I’ll pay extra and buy thru Amazon.

Decent sound - horrible build quality
Broke within a year of buying and I am *very* careful with my equipment. Reasonably nice sound profile but wasn't worth the money even removing the quality issues.

Great sound, garbage build. Dead driver after ~50 hours of use, no support.
First of all, these sound excellent. They punch WAY above their weight for $300. Comfort for my ears with the larger foam tips was outstanding. But, these positives are meaningless when the product doesn't work. Buyer beware, reliability is atrocious and if these go dead for no reason, Drop won't help you. 12 months warranty is not nearly enough for these time-bombs. Maybe with a 5-year warranty I would recommend these to a friend. I used these very infrequently over the 14 months that I owned them. Maybe 1-2 hours at a time, a couple of times a month maximum. They were handled carefully, kept in the case, not exposed to moisture, etc. While sitting in the case overnight, one the low frequency driver on the left earbud went dead. I contacted support and was told that because it was over 12 months since my purchase, there was NO warranty of any kind. No option to repair. No option to pay to replace just the left earbud. Just SOL - thanks for being a customer. After being a regular MassDrop customer, I was a bit stunned by the response. I've not bought anything since and will not buy anything here in the future. It reinforces that one should be extremely careful as an early adopter. Build quality and warranty is a real factor when purchasing any audio product...and these won't hold up.

metalmattyCan you proof your accusation? I've had nothing but good experiences in terms of repair/refund within the first year for any kind of defects.

RepliYes I can prove this. I too, had many good experiences with massdrop prior to this, which is why it is so frustrating. To be fair, this was NOT within the first year. It was 14 months - 2 months past the warranty. Massdrop had no legal obligation to help me. But, the amount of use was far below what one would normally achieve in 12 months. I have various IEMs ans simply did not use these very frequently. I hoped that massdrop would give me some kind of pay to repair or replace option, but was told they would do nothing for me by support. I have the emails if anyone cares to see such an unhelpful and scripted response. The MD Plus went in the trash the same afternoon and I have not bought a massdrop product since. My TH-X00 and 6XX headphones and many other pads cables etc purchased from massdrop continue to work great. I stand by my review as honest and fair. Drop got my 1500 bucks plus as a customer, but has lost me after this one.

The cable is extremely flimsy
Cable broke very easily despite minimal use.
