Are these not just HyperX Cloud 2 with different branding? They look exactly the same down to the velour pads.

KARLNFFCAs someone who used to own HyperX Cloud 2's, the only similarity I see is the similar design of the metal piece that attaches the earcups to the headband. Literally everything else is different, they definitely don't look "exactly the same" The earcups on the Clouds are oval vs round on all the Beyerdynamics. @Rasaska is correct, that the Cloud 1 and 2's are modified rebranded Takstar pro 80's.

rhenomAnd where did the Takstar Pro 80’s drivers come from? I’ll tell you what, I had my Creative H7 and a pair of Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros, and with the bass port at the lowest bass setting on the COP, I couldn’t tell them apart sonically. Beyerdynamic does make great dynamic headphones though, I will say that much. Also, the DT 1990 I compared directly to the DT 990 was definitely a sonic improvement and refinement (fav change was the less abrasive treble, which I assume was due to lower distortion).

KARLNFFCNot at all. These are closed-back similar to the Cloud II's, but they're completely different in every other way. Much better drivers, larger cups, different shape, detachable cable, the list goes on. Just upgrading from Cloud II's to a pair of DT770's (not 177X's) is a huge improvement that I highly recommend if you have the budget for it. I'm considering picking up a pair of 177X's myself tbh
