After the first shipment of the Ferrum Forge Falcon, we received tons of positive feedback—but there was one thing that could be improved. Based on member feedback that the original pocket clip was too easily bent out of shape, we went back to the drawing board Read More
When did Drop open a shipping warehouse in China? Last time I did anything with them the items in stock would be shipped from their warehouse in America.
McJimmisFrom what I have heard, these clips (and the Drop/Ferrum Forge knives) are made by WE Knife Co., which is located in China. They probably just ship these directly from their factory.
JohnnyVLooks like 6 mm O.C. from eyeballing (with a tape, just not dial calipers ;) ) the screws on my Buc, with which this clip is compatible. Coulda used this drop when I snapped that clip - but there was a drop instead for a deep carry clip from WEKnife, which I jumped on. Wish that one'd come back around - I'd already bent the new one once and fixed it....and then bent it again a week ago. I'm a little afraid to cold work it much more lest it snap for good. TBH, I like the lowrider more. But this drop looks like they put a little more thought into it for what is obviously an every. day. carry. community - you know who you are. Can't get dressed without putting something edged in a pocket or purse, murse or belt loop...
So I won't necro-thread comment, the screws can be found thru any knife making supply company - or anywhere, really, what with the interwebz and all. I think they are 4-32 x 4mm, with the caveat that it's a semi-educated guess, so....grain-o-salt.
I just received my clip and I have a couple of initial observations:
It seems very well made. Very light (duh), perfect finish, the design is exactly what I was hoping for.
I completely missed that these are only compatible with certain Ferrum Forge knives so this clip fits zero of the knives I own. hahah. That is MY fault, though. At least I have a rad replacement clip if I pick up a compatible knife in the future. ;)
Does anyone know if the blue is really blue, like, much more so than my display shows, or is the light-grey I'm seeing an accurate depiction? I have one of the blue Falcons that were offered in a limited number, and if the blue clip is actually blue then thats probably be the color I should get, if not, the grey will match best. And to be more exact, I should say that I BOUGHT one of those Falcons, but it now belongs to my daughter. It was "pretty" and fit her hand better than mine. I like to encourage her knife habit, but I don't want her making off with my $1K customs, which are also "pretty", apparently, so that Falcon did some great work for me, even if I found the size too awkward to use to cut anything.
