Hello Everyone!
As you may know, Fizan created the first aluminum trekking pole in Italy in 1947 and has been innovating in this category ever since. Passed down from generation to generation, Fizan still has the world’s lightest 3 section trekking pole in the Compact, which has successfully been used on summits of Everest and K2. We currently offer a collaboration version of this pole.
We’re proud to be working with Fizan on the Compact and now are excited to introduce the next iteration in our partnership with them: the Massdrop x Fizan Traveler.
Built for those looking to travel with their poles or those just looking for a more compact pole option, the Traveler does not sacrifice quality in its small package. We worked with Fizan to offer this pole in a custom Massdrop color and design. We’ve also included the standard tips for ultimate durability over the long haul. And with added carry case and tip covers, these poles are packable and easy to throw into any travel bag or daypack.
And to sweeten the deal, we're able to offer a shorter lead time on this product! We're planning to get these shipped out on December 14.
Happy trekking! Kim

Assembled and fully collapsed, I measured them at 20.1 inches. Maybe I should dissemble them in 4 parts, the longest section makes 16.1 inches which is more or less what's advertised, and then I can store the poles in the bag.

jpittierThank you. I wondered if perhaps that's where the confusion was (between Massdrop and Fizan). Because the product description here says "The four collapsible sections can be adjusted from 16.9 inches to 49.2 inches," which doesn't really imply that they need to be taken apart.

riidoThank you. So tempting. I already own the Compact 3 AND Compact 4...not to mention my beloved set of Lekis and another pair of Pariah click-lock poles. But there is a hiking event I like to do in Sweden that these would be perfect to travel with.... but do I really NEED 5 sets of poles?!?

Having used a couple of different types of other poles in the past, I have one basic requirement: I should be able to get replacement rubber tips ("shoes"?) for any poles I use. My poles last several Himalayan treks but the rubber tips get frayed, some break off, after 1-2 treks. Poles become hard to use without the right tips. If you do long treks and your poles don't have tips, the constant hitting of the metal pole end on hard rock jars the wrists and arms. I buy Decathlon poles, and I can buy extra tips from them. Will this Fizan offer extra tips?

diyaudioChiming in to boost, and also ask for Massdrop to offer replacement tips, etc. It's getting close to time to replace my Fizan tips, but they don't sell direct and all the resellers I can find are UK and AU. It would be great if you guys could offer a replacement tip set or selection for those of us who bought in on these.

I bought a set of the Fizan poles and loved them. Bought a second set for my wife and was having trouble with them - as the poles would not tighten without pulling totally apart then putting back together. I simply needed another connecting piece which would expand properly. I emailed Fizan and was told they don't support the MassDrop sales. i was provided with the supplier and emailed them and never received a response (tried again and did not receive a response). While I was happy with my first set, I would not purchase another Fizan from MassDrop because I received unsatisfactory customer service.

heavyjumboThank you for mentioning this. I'm down a single pole (Fizan/Massdrop Compact 3) and have been trying to figure out what to do about it. This helps make my decision.

People, please check out Pacer Poles.  They are ergonomically designed and the best poles ever. You don't have to grip them - they just rest comfortably in your hands and keep you more upright than other poles. They are made in the UK but they will ship them to you. http://pacerpoles.com/

cbhikerBoth more expensive and heavier than the ones here.

fishbulbThis is true, but they are vastly more comfortable and ergonomically designed for better posture while walking. I love them and believe they are well worth the extra money. Check out Section Hiker who tested them out and wrote them up on his site. Apparently the company (in the English Lake District) tried to interest American companies in adopting their handles but got no takers.

Do you have a video that shows taking them apart and putting back together?
Y2ktsaWe do not but I can look into creating that. If you're familiar with the Massdrop x Fizan Compact 3 or 4 poles, it is the same system. You never need to fully take them apart as they just twist to loosen and slide down.

These are absolutely fabulous poles I have used them on all triple crown hikes however the lightness comes at a strength price as for use on river crossing they generally snap ..... be warned find a strong stick i love these poles!!!!!!!

I bought these to use this summer, a five day hike in Snowy Range Mountains in WY and a three day hike at Picture Rocks National Lakeshore in Upper Michigan. Worked great, held up very well. I'm glad I got these to replace heavier ones.
aadewittGreat to hear!

What's new apart from accessories and grip?
FaaaIt collapses down a little smaller and features the new branding direction from Fizan. In addition we’ve got this in a custom color and branding. Quality-wise the aluminum is the same as their other poles.

Worst I ever had! they are great and I also uses them as my poles for my Lanshan tent but after less then a mounth on my trip and probably twenty days of using them I can't twist them anymore and now I am without hiking poles during my trip in Alaska. It is such a shame to buy hiking poles for this price and to not able to use them after a month! I really don't reccomend it to anyone! I also took care of them two weeks ago and cleaned them. Don't loose your money here and buy other brand. I am furios and dissapointed.

you can see this poles are divided to four sections but the middle and high sections can't be seperated. I can't twist the middle section and it is poorly hard to try with one finger twisting it
