Received my pair finally and have now listened them through Dragonfly Red for a few hours. I really like them! The sound signature is un-obtrusive and smooth: nothing really pops out or irritates. These are great for listening to some background music (just now playing some sweet M. Ward) when actually concentrating on something else.
The only minor criticism is that with my ears the tips do not fit perfectly and as a result the level of bass drastically depends on the tiniest changes in their position. I guess all universal fit IEMs are like this to some extent. Also, the lowest sub-bass simply isn't there. But to me that's a minor thing for the type of use.
I work in an open office and the EDC is now my go-to pair either when the office gets noisy, or simply when wearing large full-size planars gets a bit tiresome. Yes, Hifimans + tube amp gets the sweetest sound and big warm-yet-solid bass, but it's nice to get those large over-ear cans off once in a while, espeically since I'm wearing glasses. And working with active noise cancelling Boses for hours gives me this odd sense of pressure or disconnection, which I don't get with IEMs.
Amazing bang for $, or in my case bang for €.
hiilariYou could try SpinFits. Those can provide better seal and fit if the regular silicon tips do not fit perfectly. Did you also try the foam tips?
The sub-bass is definitely there. The EDC goes down to 20Hz easily so if you are not experiencing it well enough it is most likely that the seal is not good enough, as you pointed out.

JyriThanks for the tip Jyri, will try those. Can you advise what SpinFit model to choose. Their website doesn't seem to mention Nuforce compatiblity at all
KbaumHi. Can you please clarify. They only have two base models available http://www.spinfit-eartip.com/index.html : CP100 with larger bore and CP800 with smalle one, and bunch of sizes on top of that. What is a 'micro 1010'?
