Unbeatable cans without amp in any price range
To be honest, I’m not sure if there are any other headphones that do NOT require a powerful desk amp matching and could beat 58X in any price range. I was absolutely amazed by the drivability and performance of 58X finally when I plugged them directly via Apple’s Lightning (or USB-c) to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (only £9) to my iPhone or iPad. However, if you want to get the best of them, you should turn off the “Reduce Loud Sounds” option in “Headphone Safety” in “Sounds & Haptics” setting of iPhone (forget about the worry over your hearing loss just for a moment 😂). And then, oh my goodness, they sound very energetic and punchy even you don’t have to go for the full volume on iPhone. Trust me, no need for either an eye-wateringly expensive DAC or a powerful amp for 58x at all!
