Is Spyderco just going to distribute SG2 Enduras indefinitely through (Mass)Drop now? Like an ongoing exclusive or something? I suppose it's technically correct to say that "1K+" have been sold, but whether thats 1008 total or 8001 total kind of makes a difference for us collector-pirate knife enthusiast folks. Glad I grabbed up a cpl Delicas...
I figured these would have sold out long ago. The endura is a much larger knife than the delica but it is light weight and carries very well. Its actually what got me carrying large knives where i used to carry mostly 3" to about 3-3/8" blades and under 3.5" for sure. Nowadays i carry anywhere from 3"-4" folders and i think if more people gave the endura a try they would carry some large pocketable folders as well.
now why i really commented is how many of these are actually available? I bought 2 thinking they would go quick and be gone.
On another note i had shipping issues when fedex transferred my package to my local usps and lost my endura sg! Contacted drop
support and they took care of me 100%! After verifying. Amazing customer service from Drop!
I've seen the number 1100 thrown around, but does anyone know exactly how many of these will be sold? I vaguely remember--it was a long time ago--some confusion after the initial drop sold less than a thousand; Massdrop clarified at the time that the rest of the stock, or potential stock up to a certain number, would be available in the future to purchase, but I thought 1K was the maximum that would be sold.
More to the point: at the risk of sounding like a pirate, I hope (Mass)Drop stops selling these soon so that they can become a bit harder to find, a bit more collectible, and a bit more valuable. I only sell knives to have money to buy MORE KNIVES, so it's not as if I'm expecting some outlandish appreciation as if they were poorly built suburban mcmansions during the Dick Cheney administration of the 00's. But insofar as one of my potential custometd can hop onto google and see that the SG2 Endura is available to ship in 24 hrs, brand new and direct from the merchant, I can't even hope to sell one of mine second-hand w/o knocking 20-30% of the retail price. And that's just a silly waste; I can and will wait, Id just rather not wait any longer than necessary to ensure I don't waste my own money.
