Massdrop x The British Belt Co Harness Leather Belt

It's here! We’re excited to unveil the Massdrop x The British Belt Co. harness leather belt. Made by hand in Rutland, England, it features full-grain Italian harness leather from Tuscany’s renowned Tannery La Perla. This leather will eventually darken to a richer, deeper brown and begin to exhibit a patina that reflects your use. The oil from your hands, the days you spend in the sun, the places the leather bends as it’s worn—all of these will contribute to the patina, and over time, make your belt truly your own.

Raw denim and harness leather: they go together like peanut butter and jelly. A vegetable-tanned steerhide leather that’s dyed in drums and stuffed with oils and tallows, harness leather is sought out for its incredible durability. Thanks to the tanning process, it also ages beautifully—which is why raw denim enthusiasts prefer it as a pairing for their jeans. We’ve carried harness leather belts on the site for years and they’ve always been well received. Now, in response to lots of requests, we’re finally setting out to make our own. We want to use the best leather out there and include everything you’ve been missing from other belts: mainly, a coated brass buckle, a sewn buckle attachment, and just the right amount of patina. When it came time to decide who to partner with on this project, it was a no-brainer.
