A tribute to India’s Mughal Empire—which is credited with producing some of the country’s most enduring artistic achievements—The Metropolitan Museum of Art has released the Mughal Dagger fountain pen. Like the intricately engraved handles of the empire’s iconic daggers, this slightly tapered writing instrument features textured gold-on-red designs with splashes of green trim on the finial, cap band, and end cap.
Note: This drop is limited to 40 units.
While it’s not gold, as the Mughal empire’s daggers were, this eye-catching fountain pen does feature a brass body that lends it a bit of weight. It’s fitted with a Medium gold-plated stainless steel nib and a threaded cap that can be posted. In addition to a standard international converter, the pen comes with a glossy red lacquered gift box, with a gold inscription of The Met’s logo on the soft interior lining.
