Mondaine Nord Sud Quartz Ladies' Watch

Traversing the Swiss Alps is no small task. However, in 2016 it became significantly easier. The Gotthard Base Tunnel is the first flat, low-level route through the Alps, connecting the cantons of Uri and Ticino. Based in Switzerland, Mondaine chose to honor the feat of engineering with the Nord Sud quartz watch. Featuring the classic Mondaine look in a 30-millimeter case, this ladies’ version is fitted with a commemorative strap. The top portion reads “Griäzi,” the traditional Swiss German welcome representative of the Northern side of the tunnel; the bottom portion reads “Bon di,” the Italian greeting of “good day,” representative of the south side. Flip the watch over and you’ll see plenty of color on the strap to further highlight the differences in Nord and Sud.
