Components
Armed with a PCM5102 DAC, the Monitor 02US Dragon is capable of converting up to 32bit or 384 kHz audio, letting you run the gamut of lossless formats. Through the USB 3.0 input, your music gets optimized for the highest quality presentation and can be broadcast through a variety of outputs: Toslink, RCA coaxial, MuLink, RCA analog, and 1/8” and 1/4” headphone jacks. With easy switching between outputs and adjusted impedance to match your device, the Dragon can handle any and all takers without a hitch in its flight.
Construction
Housed in an aluminum chassis, the Dragon comes with plenty of protection and a generous side helping of style. Instead of leaving the case in plain, glossy black, the Dragon features its namesake on the top, making for a fiery exterior to match the performance inside. Also including a digital volume knob, integrated S/PDIF transmitter, and the option to use any external DC supply, the Musiland 02US Dragon DAC/Amp comes with the power and fearsome looks of Smaug, but none of his smoky distortion.
