When you’re on the road and space is limited, you can’t go wrong with this portable lantern from industry stalwart Nitecore. The Nitecore LA10 fits in a pocket with ease, but it delivers a wide 10-meter beam with 135 lumens of output on high mode—that’s all with a single AA battery, too Read More

Glad to see I'm not the only perv who saw "LAID" on the housing. 120lm at 10m is a pretty good luminosity range with all things considered. I had a cheapo 100lm projector that I had in a 4 meter long room, and the output was decent. Kinda wish they used a Li-ion battery because they don't fade significantly in voltage like standard AA's do. I'm aware they do make non rechargeable Li-ion 1.5v AA's but that's just a waste.

It looks like a Chapstick themed sex toy with 'LAID' written on the side. Carry on

The reason they aren't offering the high CRI version is probably because it has been discontinued by Nitecore.

Thank you for your reply. They seem to advertise the "1 AA battery" a bit too much for what they are actually giving in the package.

I like how it kinda looks like it says "LAID" on the side, which is probably not what you would get if you left this on your bedside table.

AAA might not last that long at those many lumens. I was wondering if they had one with CR123 battery version which has the same power, but last's longer.

Got one of these when they were first released. Aside from the lack of a clip and the UI to change brightness being a bit tricky, no complaints. The actual lantern mechanism works great and is super useful, one of those things you don't realize how often you could use it until you have it. For $20 you really can't go wrong, it's not going to be your main flashlight and the brightness isn't great in a world where the Nitecore TINI and TIP exist, but it is a very unique mechanism so at worst it's fun to play with and show your friends. Would buy this again if I didn't already have too many lights.
