The HEM2 iems are super comfortable, on the warm side of neutral and frankly very resolving. However, their sound is also a little boring. Not necessarily something I would choose to listen to for FUN, rather something I would resort to for convenience and comfort. Good sound if you like neutral, not great if you want excitement. I like my iems with a bit of sparkle and slam, and these little guys have the frequencies presented evenly, for the most part, just not in the quantity I would like.
I will say a benefit of this is that they are NOT fatiguing, and are fantastic to sleep with.
DYBXWhich model did you get? I feel there is some confusion on this drop given the images provided (HEM1), as well as some people specifically mentioning (and bashing) the HEM1. Thanks!
I got the HEM1, Blue. My one complaint is that the connection between the cable and the driver is not entirely secure, and has disconnected while I am listening before. Bit of an issue since I am relying on the cable wrapping around my ear to keep everything where it needs to be.
But besides that, these sound great, and they are very comfortable for me, which is saying something. Usually I find earbuds/IEMs will become uncomfortable after ~15 minutes, but I could wear these for hours as they just sit comfortably in my ears
Bought HEM1 and verdict is....
sound muddy and dark and no detail what so ever!
don't buy HEM1. Goto grocery store and buy actual HAM with that money.
My HEM1 is collecting dust. anyone want it let me know.
selling it for cheap! :)
I have large ear canal openings and was unable to get a good seal even with the silicone XL ear tips that were included in the HEM2 package. The "large" foam ear tips were so tiny, I didn't even bother to try them. Everything else found in the discussions matched my findings other than the sound quality which I can't comment on due to the poor seal.
