For discerning audiophiles looking to get better sound quality out of their computers, the unit packs a heck of a punch for the size. It contains a preamp, DAC, and high-current, low-distortion Class-A headphone amplifier—all housed in a sleek, compact aluminum chassis that stands vertically to occupy minimal space on your desk. It can easily drive high-impedance headphones up to 600 ohms for clear, transparent sound with full, rich bass reproduction.

Versatile Connectivity
The Icon HDP features a 2.0 USB digital-audio converter up to 96kHz/24-bit, and also supports USB 1.0 and 1.1 up to 44.1kHz/16-bit. On the front panel, you’ll find an analog volume knob and gold-plated headphone out. The back panel is home to an abundance of I/O options: Use the USB Type B port to connect to your computer, connect your iPod via the 3.5-millimeter mini-jack (which also doubles as an optical input), and up the fidelity with the RCA coaxial input—which provides support for 192kHz/24-bit action.
