First drop was at about ~$200 (which I unfortunately bought) and then quickly went down as people realized they are not competative. I don't like mine at all and IMO wouldnt pay even the $99 for them had I known.
I'm looking for IEMs to produce music. So I need some IEMs that sound mostly neutral / analytical (with a little amount of "fun"). Normally I love the signature of my AKG 240MKII, but they are so big, it's hard to always take them with me, and I'm looking for an IE alternative to them.
Do you think the Nuforce fullfill this request? If not, do you know any other recommendations?
I seen the report at innerfidelit, 499, really? Why for, brand appeal. the expensive armatures dont mean anything to me, what does is the end result., According to the generally well trusted innerfidelity, and others, these earphones have basically no response above around 1500hz., There is no trebbel. Yes the bass is amazing, but it's missing 9/10ths the audio spectrum..,
CaizI think the measurements have something strange as frequency response wouldn't even stop to a wall like this. Also, IEMs generally always have some roll off on higher frequencies as our ear canals will emphasize higher frequencies.
lol, thats a matter for EQ, what our ear will do i suggest, since everyone's hearing is different, why tune a headphone for one persons ear? We have eq' for that and the people who make music account for that, since all sound coming into the ear canal would be treated the same, right? Doesn't matter iem or headphone.. it's all bouncing around the canal. but that, -20 decibels above 3000hz is really like absent sound above 3000hz. which is huge, like i says, you can try this in an audio player, and there is ALOT of material around 3000hz+. im sure this is a non intentional effect of the limited design and not some ideal figure.. Even with your headphones, or iem's play a song, then -20db your eq, and you tell me the difference isnt something giant. an elephant in the room. Not only that, but i think it inversely so, that people changing their instruments for "human hearing" are just making a misleading excuse. and that's whats actual instruments are for in my opinion, and is accommodated for by the artists and producers.,. now, if you mean to say that because the iem is in the canal, there is a difference in frequency response, we'll, that might be another subject, but such an argument hasn't been broached here yet.., at least not proper. Here's an example, from the massdrop EDC3 page, where rolloffs are not so aggressively early, or aggressive so i see a minux 5, not a minus 20 (in the logarithmic scale mind you) measure of db, and is more server outside that logarithmic representation., now i don't mean to be rude, but i suppose that the massdrop figures provided here are probably a bit "rosey".. and not "raw",. just my understanding, i'd say for something rolling off so hard, i don't see the appeal there., i think the low frequency is probably very nice.,
A late comment... like a few other folks, when I received these and tried them out, I wasn't impressed... they sounded kind of incoherent, with a really forward high end. Then I noted someone having the same impression, which they recanted with different tips on the IEMs.
I added SpinFit twin blades to mine, and I have seen the light! Great sounding IEMs!
dgt5They are much better than EDC3s, which I like.
they are similar re comfort (both good), but the sound quality of the primo8s is clear and more engaging. In my view
Hey guys. Quick question. I’m not too knowledgeable on how headphone specs are measured, so I don’t really know how to compare different products. That being said, I see that these IEMs are $500 and are being sold for $140. Is there a reason for this? Are they actually $500 headphones? How might one tell? Thanks in advance!
ameyer75Well the truth is these were probably never really worth $500, but they do get close.
They are sold at ost markets at far lower prices, massdrop has a specifically great deal.
They are a great pair of in-ears at this price, highly recommended.
