A favorite among audiophiles for its great value IEMs, OSTRY has another hit on its hands with the KC06. This model boasts 10-millimeter dynamic CCAW drivers and a 16-ohm impedance that makes driving from most sources a breeze Read More
I have to say, after purchasing these I was almost regretful because I had not read past reviews about them coming broken, etc. Now, after receiving them, I am the most annoyed I've been in months with a piece of technology, and for the pettiest of reasons. The ear tips are absolutely ridiculous. I have had them for two days and spent well over 5 hours fiddling with them to try and attach the tips on. The issue lies in both the size of the earbud speaker and the size of the tip(s). No matter what you do to them, they just don't listen. I've terried these blasted earphones too long for happiness. Fix the tip sizing!
It's hard to justify buying these after reading the negative reviews (reliability of the product AND support of the manufacturer).................there are just too many other earphones at this price point out there.
The last post on these are a year old and some of them are negative in terms of quality. Can anyone shoot an update on their thoughts to this day. Are these worth the buy? What alternatives are there? Are there any still doing battle with some of the previous buyers?
Thank you for your insight, I jumped into the TFZ King Pro drop that ended yesterday, which I'll use in the office. If the A model ever pops up here I'll consider them for everyday use.
My KC06's have started malfunctioning, Totally worth the money I spent, until now. The "Y" conneciton where the right and left earphone meet is starting to act funny and drops/lowers the volume to the left earphone. It is very annoying as it tends to act up when I turn my head from left to right. As I sit here typing this they just cut out again....sigh. Ostry requires me to send them a video to prove that they are malfunctioning, I tried to record the problem on my phone but you cant hear it in the recording, these are IEMs.... and the volume sometimes just lowers and not drops out. I would not suggest buying these even if they sound awesome, Ostry's warranty sucks and I think its time I just spent more money for a higher product bracket. Other people in this thread had posted similar issues with their KC06's. Stay away.
The replacement headphones I got are now faulty. They are doing the exact same thing as my original ones. These headphones can't even last one full year whereas my sennheiser cx-300 ii have lasted me 7 years or so... I'm very disappointed. Sent a message to Massdrop, lets see what happens!
Update:
OSTRY has not replied to my email. I sent an email to Massdrop a couple of days later and they have offered to send me a new unit (normally they don't do that but they have some spare ones available, lucky me!).
I am very pleased with the customer support from Massdrop, top service. 10/10
Just lost sound on the right earphone. The sound can work if I hold the cable on the earphone-end in a certain direction but that's only a temporary solution, in a few minutes it goes back to static/no-sound. Bought them 22/11/14. Sending an email to ostry now for warranty issues. Will keep you guys posted! :P
Just lost sound to my left earphone entirely today. Very disappointing. I think I'm even starting to Los sound on my right earphone. Was great for a while but now I'm disappointed.
How do I make a warranty claim? My pair's connector is shorting out and is very annoying! I keep good care of them, don't swing them around, grab by the cable, or anything, yet it still broke..
