After hearing the original Ostry KC06 Earphones, we figured that the ideal balance between portability and performance had finally been reached, but fortunately, we were mistaken. An improved edition of the KC06 that includes a warmer sound signature, a more musical presentation, and some slick red accents, the Ostry KC06A Inner-Ear Earphones will become your new go-to travel buddies Read More
I'll add my experiences with the others, AMAZING sound quality for the price, bad build quality on the cable. These broke on me just under a year as well.
Don't buy. They will break within a year, I have gotten two and booth started falling apart a year from me receiving them. Better to spend a little more money for a product that will last. Massdrop will only replace them once.
Bought these a year or two ago, went through two pairs in three months because of how fragile they are. The second pair I only used while sitting still at the computer, and they still went out in the left ear after a month or two. Just a warning. Excellent sound quality, but yeah they don't last long.
Also, not sure if this has changed, but the warranty it comes with from Ostry is pretty much impossible to use, and the website the QR code linked to doesn't really do...well, anything. Also, trying to contact them is essentially useless. These issues may have been remedied by partnering with Massdrop though.
Despite all of that, I am still gonna buy a pair, because they sound so god damn good while they last.
GcyhI haven't heard the King Pro, but they're almost 3 times the price of the Ostry so it isn't a fair comparison. The KC06a is excellent value for the money, but I doubt that it could compete with the King Pro.
after my kco6's broke (they lasted a couple months) i bought these but they broke after a few weeks of very light use. That said they sound amazing and if they lasted more than a few months i would definitely buy again.
Anyone know whether there are 9 pairs of ear tips or 7? I only got 7 instead of the advertised 9, but the box form cut out looks like it's designed for only 7 pairs, full set s/m/l for both treble and bass set, but only m size for the ones with metal mesh (red ring).
Some of the online review in 2012 suggests there should be 9 pair, so does the current amazon's spec which says 9 pairs, but I also found this review (2014) https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/ostry-kc06a-hi-fi-in-ear-high-performance-earphones-headphones.20357/reviews says there are only 7 pair. Can anyone else bought this confirm?
DeSTiNeI got seven pairs of tips. The 'treble' and 'bass' tips both came in small, medium and large, but the black tip with the mesh filter only came in one size (medium).
