otaking241Grey market buys it’s not retail and it’s not black market. A retailer has to buy so many watches to retain its official dealer license so at times it sells new watches to a grey dealer to keep its numbers up
I have the samurai on bracelet. Chunky watch but it’s very well made, accurate to about +10 seconds a day (acceptable to me), and the bracelet is solid. I paid about $490 when they first came out with the STO dial.
Ive owned the 009 and sold it for £100 more than the price on here on Ebay last year. It was one of the best watches I owned, comfortable, fantastic looking and ridiculously accurate day to day so im buying this and I won't be selling it this time!
The Samurai is handsome, and a pretty good deal. Not quite as good looking as a gunmetal Save the Ocean Turtle (not in this drop), but close. The Turtle in this drop is a bit tacky, though. I understand the Samurai is more comfortable and hugs the wrist better.

How's the metal bracelet on the turtle? I have a samurai on rubber and like it, but I've always read that the Seiko bracelets are garbage and are usually replaced immediately.
GLG20I have a stainless Samurai STO on the stock bracelet. I don't like the bracelet as much as the stock bracelet on my SRP309 Orange Monster - in comparison, the Samurai STO bracelet feels light and flimsy. Likewise, the bezel on the Samurai STO is much more vulnerable to dings that the bezel on my Orange Monster. On the other hand, my Samurai is much more accurate than my Orange Monster. That may be due to the difference in age and your mileage may vary. Overall, I like the Samurai STO, but I love the Orange Monster.
I have the stainless steel version of the turtle watch. It is an absolutely fantastic watch a wear it everyday at work and wear it when I dress up. I purchased mine when the local downtown Seattle Macy's one out of business and I believe I paid roughly about the same price.
I think you may be right on the warranty part, I've never had to service anything from there under warranty but I can see that being possible for sure given their business model.
One thing I know for sure is that you may get an imperfect piece and there is a restocking fee for anything over 3K or 4K - I definitely wouldn't buy anything in that price range from there. Easier dealing with ADs and local watch dealers
