I had these, sold them, they suck, boomy bass and harsh high end akin to a handheld transistor radio
Etymotics ER2xr are way better, these are trash
by the way I have Sennheiser 800s and the full line of Etymotics

These are great - I bought two sets of them 2 or 3 years ago.
Moreover they can be simply modded to be awesome.
First thing is to replace stock tips with something bigger and with broader canal for sound. This helps with the mids and the bass. The mids get a bit more detail and bass gets better control (though it still goes low).
The second mod is to take out the foam filters and cut one of them in half in order to make two thinner ones - and then put them back.
The highs get better extension and detail.
I've also tried removing the foam completely but then the sound gets shrilling and metalic. I've tried different materials too but the original foam is still the best.
As for the loose fit: the solution is quite simple, just wear them with cable around the top of the ears, like I do.
One more thing: these are my gym set for long cardio sessions, they can take a lot of sweat and I have never ever had any problems with them (almost 3 years now).

I have the sennheiser's for almost a year, when they were like $70. I absolutely love them and would recommend them. The fit is not for everybody, because they have a pretty long shell. Bu they definetely worth paying $40.

I had these back when they were 100 bucks. They were awesome to say the least. However the cable did break on me over time. It is angled but it can wear easily. Buyer's beware.

I’ve had two sets of these. They sound wonderful but they’re fragile. The silicone tips will not stay on the nozzles; in short order you’ll be using Spiral Dots or Dekoni Bulletz or some such.
im to the point where I will not buy an IEM without a detachable cable. It’s always the cable that goes bad. I know they’re keeping them small and light but I’m done with earphones you throw away when the cable breaks. If you don’t mind this, you will probably love these. Comfortable and small and great sound.

I feel it's my responsibility to share the experience I had with these. I've owned three pairs of these and had big problems with all three. First, when I tried the first pair I couldn't believe the sound. It was amazing. My jaw literally dropped. They had the best sound I've ever heard, as was the instrument separation. I told myself that I would only buy Sennheiser products from then on. Now the problems, as others have said, they were constantly falling out of my ears and the cable would tangle up easier than any other IEM I had ever owned. The two worst things were that they are terribly made. The cables would start falling apart almost immediately. The other worst thing was the Sennheiser customer service. They refused to take them back, even though they met the requirements for a replacement. The last pair I had, I spoke to a woman and she told me to send them in and I should be able to get a replacement. After mailing them in, it was almost six weeks before I had any type of reply. That reply came as a box I received. It was the pair I had sent in. The reason I was given for refusal was that they showed signs of wear. I called and spoke to the same woman. I told her that of course they showed signs of wear, that was the problem. She told me to send them back and to put her name on the mailing label and she would make sure they were replaced. That replacement never came. I also was unable to speak to that woman. I tried calling, I tried emailing, I even sent a letter by regular mail. I also tried to talk with anyone else who would address my problem. That finally proved to me what kind of company I was dealing with. I swore I would never buy another Sennheiser product. Go on the Amazon site and you'll see reviews echoing what I just stated. If you you decide to go ahead and buy these, prepare for the problems I gave for being disappointed.

These were my go to pair of wired buds for a couple years. Now for $40, not the $100 or more I spent previously, this is easily a buy, even for backups.
