We've continued to be in contact with the vendor regarding the group's order and they've informed us that nearly all individual packages are prepared and should ship out by the end of the week. We will be sure to follow up then and update the group once everything is en route to you all!

Not many people are going to buy a Spyderco through Massdrop if this is the case - get in 2 days for the same price vs waiting 3 weeks

ThatGuy333Well you do get $25 off if you refuse the "free" case and get free shipping, so it is a small discount. But I agree that if Massdrop has to comply with the MAP pricing by using gimmicks then there is no point in bulk ordering Spydercos.

Given the new MAP pricing at Spyderco, could this explain why you have to go through the $25 pouch gimmick to get the discount? $25 off the MAP price is not great, but you are not going to find a better price from a reputable retailer (and free shipping too).

ThatGuy333@ThatGuy333 Yes, of course, that is the premise of Massdrop. Your group buy allows us to all get lower prices but unfortunately some of our suppliers have strict pricing policies and we only have so much room to negotiate.

ThatGuy333Sal Glesser said in an interview somewhere that it was easier to get to the opening hole from a tip down grab, given the size of the knife. Holding the tail and finding the hole would add an extra step.

Same price at knife works and they have free priority shipping for all orders over $100 - I am going to call Monday and find out if they offer the $25 off

This is a really nice knife, but it is available on Amazon for $275.62. So not a great deal.

It doesn't make a huge difference, but you can decline the zippered carrying case with the massdrop deal and reduce the price by $25. Still not anything ground breaking, but if you're willing to wait it is cheaper
