Product Description
If there was ever a kitchen knife that could do it all, this one from Spyderco would be in the running. Measuring 10.25 inches overall, with a 5.75-inch blade, it’s large enough for serious cutting tasks, yet offers the refined balance, control, and precision normally found in smaller paring knives Read More
This is not a good blade profile (or size) for any kitchen task.
Do yourself a favor and get a Tojiro for less.
This is probably only for Spyderco fans, I never got the whole hole thing myself, aesthetically or functionally.
I wonder if they made up the name Cook's Culinary Knife to try and sell this. It is a bit bigger than paring knives, but still too small to use for most kitchen tasks. If I needed something about this size, I would just pull my FF Falcon out of my pocket. Or my Spyderco Endura in ZDP-189. I just can't get excited about this, Just how much control, balance, and precision can an almost one inch thick knife have?
You led me down a rabbit hole of MBS-26 steel > Spyderco kitchen knives > Cold Steel kitchen knives > VG-1 steel. Now I'm back here and the circle is complete.
Easily carve a roast with a 5.75 inch blade? Really? Lol must be a pretty tiny roast. Why not just sell this for what it is: a utility/petty knife 🙄
(probably because most people don't buy a $100 petty in vg10 i guess, but this is no replacement for even a small chef/gyuto with that short blade height)
MD staff:
Blade thickness: 0.09 in (2.3 cm)
Pretty sure that should be 2.3mm 😉
NotsurewhyibotherThank you! I just had to laugh. On today's episode of "The Kitchen Survivalist" we see Larry batoning a sweet potato and a head of cauliflower.
