I'm always highly suspicious of items that have such a huge discount. If the price can drop that much, it seems to me that the product was not worth the original asking price.
UnwisefoolSuper high-end designer glasses like these are always overpriced. With the exception of a few truly exceptional pieces (Salt's Aether collaborations come to mind), most of these $500+ glasses are not really "worth" more than $200 or so. But it is what it is, and whether you're talking Salt, Matsuda, or Dita (a lot of these tend to be Japanese), you're paying for a little extra craftsmanship/design and a lot of exclusivity/branding.
The discount here seems to be specifically due to this model being discontinued. I just received my pair and they are excellent- but if you asked me to price them blindly, I would have guessed $300 max. At Drop's price, they were a steal.
Agreed. I received my pair last week and they were a great bargain. Feather-light titanium frames (flexible and resilient), super clear CR39 lenses, thoughtful single-side AR coating on the inside only, comfortable fit and absolutely flawless fit and finish. These are a simple and versatile design and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
I understand why glasses like these get MSRP'd at $500 or more, but I struggle to pay that much for them. At Drop's price this was truly a steal.
