Ideal for pairing with your smartphone or portable music player, the Topping NX5 headphone amp fits comfortably in the hand while packing a powerful punch. The amplifier section is built with OP AD8610 and TI BUF634 chips, which combined make for an impressive output of 285 mW. The front panel features two gain settings, including a high gain for more demanding headphones, along with a bass boost. Made of aluminum with a laser-engraved surface, the shell has a power LED that turns from blue to red to indicate low battery. Of course, thanks to the NX5’s long battery life, that won’t happen very often. This amp is rated to last 30 hours on a single charge and will recharge fully in less than 4 hours. In a rush? Thirty minutes of charging gets you 6 hours of playback time.
