jjnistThose are T2-E's they have 3 drivers (2 BA, 1 dynamic). These are he originals with 2 BA drivers only. SOme people prefer these for being more flat and better for critical listening then the new T2-E
I got mine off of amazon and after 6 month of daily use (and a little abuse) there were some issues. Both ear piece's shells came apart, the cable started turning green for some reason and the jack broke. All of the issues are fixable to some extent but the non right angle jack makes it hard to work with.
I have no comments on the sound quality because that is not my forte.
Here is a picture of the current state of my pair.
Another owner here:
Got mine a few weeks ago, Look awesome, I can get an ok fit but it feels like there isn't as much seal compared to other iems. Now heres where mine get odd, The detail is great, vocals sound clear and beautiful, but the low end on mine is very lacking (even for an akg k701 user ;) ) If i push them in a nice amount of low end comes through but the mids/highs are gone, and if I pull them out slightly vice-versa. I dont know if its just my fit but most of my friends agree, that vocals sound great, but most other genres don't really benifit from these.
Sound mint with Coldplay and sorts
Don't sound great with rock, punk, power metal or edm.
The highs can get fatiguing and I also saw a noticable increase in quality by amping these puppies.
Can't say anything about issues with build quality but mine aren't old enought to say. They do look swanky as hell though. (Purple&Grey)
So, since these will likely get some attention, and I've owned them, I'd be happy to share a bit.
Looks: These things look awesome. Like super-cool future tech I love wearing these, awesome.
Sound: Mine were rather warm. There was a noticeable low end which would bleed over into the mid range. The mid range itself had nice clarity amd sounded fine. Nothing to write home about, but also not bad by any stretch. I have the same thing to say about the highs. Comparing to the T1s, the T1s had far less veil but also less accuracy and detail retrieval. These have quite competent detail and sound reproduction. Aside from the warm low end, the other ranges leaned more to the cold sounding side. Interesting blend.
Staging: It's not big. I never had problems though and things sounded fine, but the soundstage was rather small. Imaging was decent considering the size, but mostly the related staging effects were not stupendous
Comfort: I liked the fit, though adding pressure may push a sharp end into your ear. Cable comfort is nice.
Build: So, here mine broke after a few months. The cable snapped at the connection to the body. The body itself is sturdy, but the cable is frail, and sure enough mine broke there.
At ~$85 shipped it's not a bad deal. I probably would not go for it again after my experiences. but they are decent 3 driver sound at sub-$100 price range.
I have the 1's and they sound great, these offer more and are very inexpensive especially with a 3 driver setup in each ear. I look forward to hearing these!!!!
