Every negative review I came across mentions Oxybenzone. Why is it such a big deal?

AnzialIt is an endocrine disruptor which can affect the nervous system, has been linked to cancer in some laboratory studies, and creates free-radicals when exposed to the sun which are harmful. It is associated with photoallergic reactions and absorbs through the skin in significant amounts.

AnzialOxybenzone is used because of it's ability to absorb and dissipate UV light. The vast majority of sunscreens contain it. It has also been proven that it's being absorbed by the skin instead of just sitting on the skin blocking UV light. Benzophenones (oxybenzone is part of this chemical family) are known to cause cell damage and hormonal imbalances in a lab setting, but there is no direct relationship between sunscreen containing it and any adverse health effects. If anything, use with caution and keep up on any research on the matter, but even more important - wear sunscreen regardless of the oxybenzone content.

FearlessleaderI guess that would depend on how dense your beard is. I shaved for a dermatological treatment and discovered baby white skin under my beard... I'd recon if your beard is not dense and long enough, any product will be effective; if it is I don't think you'd need to apply it to the skin underneath.

We've offered a few Urth products here and they've been very well received - for that reason, I thought I would introduce their face moisturizer as well. I've been using it for a while and love it; I'm happy to provide my thoughts if you folks would like it, but figure I'd point you towards some unbiased reviews first.

I got this and the Urth Antioxidant Face Complex from Massdrop. Both are moisturizer. This face balm has SPF, I use this during the day. Sometimes I apply antioxidant face complex first, then layer with face balm. When to use this or the other moisturizer?

chongntYou're using it as intended. The AFC is intended for people with oily skin or someone who prefers a moisturizer that is lightweight and without SPF. Both are great at keeping the skin hydrated and protected from the elements. You can layer it as well... just as you described.

Why does the shipping more than double when buying two? $ 3.75 to $7.75 (4 dollars more). That is not how shipping small items works, and seems like a way to gouge out a few more dollars out of us. I almost bought this a few days ago and I (may incorrectly) recall combined shipping being $4.75, which is much more reasonable.

senniemanThis is because shipping costs jump dramatically at 1lb, so the cost increases by more than 2x right around this weight. After 1lb it doesn't change as much. So no, not a way to sneak more money out of people! Our shipping costs are not inflated at all.
