Featuring smart details like waterproof phone pockets and stay-put silicone waistband tape, all of VAST’s board shorts are made with the avid surfer in mind. Of course, with designs that range from stealthy to colorful, they’re equally suited for casual wear Read More
The details on this drop are not accurate at all. I got these specifically for the advertised waterproof pouch. I got the aqua shorts- none of the features mentioned are present. I am sure that the zip pocket is not waterproof, as it is made of the same fabric as the rest of the shorts and there is no covering on the zipper. Additionally there are no silicone pieces on the waistband. These are nice shorts, but without the missing details they are not as advertised.
jforce713Agreed as I bought the charcoal ones . But apparently, because these are button, these are different than the other ones; especially when you read their description on their website. What a ripoff.
Even more so, these shorts are priced lower on their website even with tax and shipping to NY.
Still nice swimwear though

I woulad not trust my phone to a waterproof pocket unless it was in a waterproof case or waterproof itself. I wouldn't ever think to surf with a phone. Would you open your pocket to pull out your phone while sitting in a board? Suddenly the waterproof pocket is full of water. Even pulling your phone out on dry land with wet shorts sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. And I can't imagine a waterproof pocket adds to comfort.
Is is it just me?
KnutAgreed. It would be absolutely foolish.
Even waterproof cases are not foolproof. One bit of sand in an o-ring and a little pressure from a wave or a dive and water gets through.
There is no way this pocket is completely waterproof. It may keep out water most of the time but sooner or later a wearer is going to fry their phone.
I bought these the last time around (in black) and I was really pleased. Even had people (two different women)ask where I got them because they wanted them for their husbands. Not too long, great fit (I am normally a 38 but ordered a 36) and they were just right. I just joined for the gray walking shorts.
Redstone02Depends if you're a true 33" or if you're closer to a 32 or 34.
All of these are adjustable and they tend to be okay for one size up.
So a size 32 would work for a 33" person, but it really all depends on how do you want it to fit.
