I received my WA7d (silver) last week, far earlier than the listing indicated. So far I am thrilled by the appearance and function of this unit with my Sennheiser HD600s. The improvement in sound and separation over my Aune T1 and Schiit Vali2 combo is palpable. I also have upgraded the tubes and think I notice an improvement (but this is one of those self-fulfilling subjective things). The only disappointment that I have is that, not reading the Massdrop ad and Woo site in enough detail, I didn’t realize that the WA7d was the older version of this DAC/Amp combination (caviat emptor and all that, but I wish this had been clearer). In any event I do much listening to TIDAL and FLAC though my iPad Pro what, if anything am I missing by having this unit in reference to the 2nd Gen?

MD's system should have closed the BLK color listing when it reached the cap, but it didn't and we apologize for this. The drop is the lowest price ever on WA7 and we don't know if it will happen again anytime soon. We hope those who are affected by the system error to consider the Silver color. We are confident you'll be pleased with our products.

Quite dissapointed about not being able to get the black version of the WA7d =(
I've been waiting for to upgrade to this for a long time so I ultimiately swapped for the silver since I still want the amp.

Ordered a black WA7d. Received an email telling me to either (i) take a silver, or (ii) get a refund. Both options are not attractive to me.
The kicker about this issue is that I do not even know who to blame. Further, I do not know who to make suggestions for things to improve.
If MD had quantity limits, they really should have cut off orders from the get go. If this has been done for keycap sets, it should be done here as well.
If it's WA, they really should give people the option to upgrade to the new WA7 or wait for the units. Disappointing potential customers who were willing to part with their money like this is not good for business.
Thanks for stomping on my personal expectations with this drop, then tossing it out the window.

nonyI got the same mail, I've been ordering from massdrop for a while now and this is the first time something like this happens.
Still very disappointing, i will probably go for the color change though...
