Headfoncis review of the xDuoo MT-604

"The xDuoo MT-604 has a warm overall tonal balance and a holographic soundstage presentation. Perfectly possible so long as you can accurately adjust the volume knobs to achieve a good balance between the left and right channels."
The TA-26 is also a not bad option if you want something like a DarkVoice. Sounds similar to the TA-03S, but uses a big ol 6AS7 for the OTL. My take on it is scattered through this thread: https://drop.com/buy/xduoo-ta-26-tube-headphone-amplifier/talk/2828859
The TL;DR on it is that I liked it more than my DV, but less than my TA-03S.
Put it between your DAC and amp and hear the difference. I use a pentacon to rca connector. Ofc set DAC vol to variable , set Xduoo vol to 12.30 - 1.00 , let it warm up for 1hr. It’s more than a headphone amp IMO , with better tubes if possible.
Changed tubes to GE5654W , better hi and low extension , details , airy, stage ,image - much better than stock tubes. Matrix Pro3 - Xduoo - Moon I5 - Dynaudio/Klipsch sub. Will try Mullard or RCA later. Heads Goldplanar 2000. Happy with set up.
Robertwamg567Should also check out Hit-Ray (Hitachi-Raytheon) 6AK5 if you can find them. Radio Shack used to sell them under their Lifetime brand with gold pins. They're some of the best sounding 6AK5 I've run into. Japanese made on what I believe to be Mullard gear. Might be Siemens. Either way, they're awesome sounding. Crystal clear mids and treble, with enough bottom end to satisfy.
I've bought 4 pairs from this vendor on ebay, and the tubes have all checked out proper on my AT1000 tester. Currently rocking two pairs in my MT-604, with the other two pairs in my Yaqin MS-6P1P.

They put 2-3 pairs of them up for sale every week or so, so if they sell out just check back later. :)
tshinharSimple solution: Use a DAC with a variable-out, such as the ifi ZEN DAC. Then all you'd have to do is calibrate (or max-out) the MT-604's volume knobs once.
Any plans on doing a drop for the MT-602? I might be speaking for more than a few here in saying I like tube sound and fairly cheap amps but don't have any balanced headphones.
This seems like a very reasonable price for a balanced hybrid tube amp. Xduoo make really decent stuff, I own two of their amps (TA-20 and Portable XD05 Basic)
and both perform exceptionally well! This looks like a little brother to the TA-20 and I love that amp as it plays nicely with Planars too. Almost tempted just to see if it has any special sound flavour vs the TA-20 for this price point.
Muscle_CowYeah, I saw this start showing up on all of the Chinese stores last week. Was and still am very tempted to get it, if not just because I have at least 500 of the valves it eats. I'm not a big fan of the power brick, but that is absolutely something that can be replaced if it is noisy.
The only thing that is really stopping me is the lack of desk and shelf space. ^^;
