Will it work in Europe (220V)? I understand PS has American plug, but can it take higher voltage?

There is nothing "New and Improved" about ANYTHING that has a tube in it. Quit drinking the Kool-Aid.

Be careful with xDuoo, customer service seems to be lacking. Have the original X3 DAP and after 9 months it just stopped working. No response from xDuoo or the seller, Tomtop. I did get it to work again, after tearing it apart and removing the battery and hooking it all back up. Just a heads up!

I understand tubes aren't designed to pair with planars but how would a hybrid unit like this go with planars such as the HE-4XX, Aeon Open Flow, M570?

I don't have many issues using my t50 mod, stock t50, edition xx, ether cx, modded m1060c, lcd2classic, he4xx, t-x0 mk2, and so on. So I shall hazard a guess and say that so long as you don't over volt the line in (not entirely easy to do unless you convert balanced to SE, really.) or you over gain your audio somewhere. Although I should stipulate that you may need to do some tube rolling to figure out what kind of sound yer into before basing on whether you like the sound or not initially. Cheap toobies should be more than enough to figure out what brand you like most. This will also allow you to figure if you should even go way down into that rabbit hole, should you so desire "more."

Is this a good intro dac/amp into the audiophile world? I currently have SHP9500 headphones and I know this is overkill for those headphones, but I'm likely to upgrade in the future to something better. Any comments are welcomed, thanks in advance!

Yes, this would pair great with your headphones and most other dynamic headphones that are more expensive and require more power.

I don't disagree with the dooder down there at all. I will say though if you have the dac plugged in, at least on my NON "B" model, it cucks the volume out. Whereas if I use RCA in, it sounds rather lovely and not cucked-ed.

How does this compare (stock and upgraded tube) to something like the Fiio K5 Pro?

Hi, Okay, after delivery and set up of my xDUoo TA-01B amp unit, the packaging was missing the CD with the updated driver. I emailed the distributor from which I purchased my unit to acknowledge the issue and the distributor directed me to the updated driver in the 'Download Center' page on xDUoo.com webpage. The updated driver is the following: XDUOO USB DRIVER (For XD-05, POKE, TA-10)..........................2017.11.09. Release Build Version 4.13.0 ST.
